“What the hell?” is probably what you thought when you saw the title of my blog post 😉
Maybe not, but I agree so much with the sentiment of the featured stamp for my So Suzy blog post today that I just had to add it.
What the hell? Why are the Distress Inks on my image all sideways? I must have slept while taking the picture. Or did I just wanted to have another reason to say “what the hell?” 🙂
Anyway, I started with the ink blended background. I used a Dylusions stencil for the cherries and blended Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple diagonally over the card stock.
I let the distressed piece sit for a while and stamped the Marilyn Monroe image on a separate piece of card stock. Having a Misti helps to get a solid stamped image. Then I ran it through my die cut machine using the MFT wonky stitched die.
I was in a kind of “crooky” mood, so I adhered the white square crooked to the cherry background and both to the card base. As a final touch I added some Kat Scrappiness sequins.
And here is a close up.
- So Suzy Stamps – Marilyn Monroe
- Kat Scrappiness – 4mm Creamsicle Sequins
- Dylusions Stencil – Bowl of Cherries 5″x8″
- Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple
I hope you enjoyed my So Suzy Stamps Design Team card. Btw, I didn’t have a specific reason for choosing cherries in the background. It was just the first stencil I saw in my stash and thought “what the hell, that could look nice” 😉
