Wow, this is becoming a real challenge 😉 The Stencilfied Journal Prompt 4 is to work with your least favorite color. My least favorite color? I don’t really have a least favorite color… (Btw, what is yours?) I decided to go with a color that I can only handle in tiny bits, as a splash of color – red. And boy is this page red 😀
I started by filling the background with Dylusions paint in Postbox Red and then spray with the same shade a little bit onto the edges. While I was filling the blank pages, I realized that both sites have a different paper. The left is a thin, more slick paper and the right is a thick card stock. So the results, especially of the spray, are very different.
At the end I added a few white flowers all around the edges – all in white (I am hoping that neutral colors are okay to use). I just needed to mute the red. Once I stenciled the flowers, I outlined them with a black pen and added a shadow around them using my Derwent water color pencil. As a final step, I outlined both pages with Black Soot Distress Ink.
What do you think? A lot of red, right? Don’t forget to check out all the other inspiration on Instagram and Facebook by searching for #thestencilfiedjournal and to see what the least favorite.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
