You Can Never Have Enough Handmade Bookmarks

All Handmade Bookmarks

Hello there! Today I’m showing you some more handmade goodness made with So Suzy Stamps πŸ™‚ Do you love reading as much as I do? My favorite genres are fantasy or medieval books. When I was living in Germany I had tons of them. Unfortunately I had to sell most of them before I moved to the US. Now I’m trying to build my stack up again. And what do all book lovers need? Exactly, bookmarks and the best ones are handmade bookmarks πŸ™‚ This post is a little longer, because I made a lot of pictures throughout the process. …

You’re How Old – Snarky Bird Crazy Card

Bird Crazy

Just jumping in to share a card with you. I found the idea for the bird crazy card on Pinterest and had to CASE it. I started with stamping the bird onto Ranger water color card stock. I grabbed some of my Zig markers in blue and yellow tones and colored the bird, but I didn’t cover the entire bird with the markers. To give it the water color look, I used a water color brush (one of those with a water tank) and blended all colors together and onto the white areas. Then I drew with the marker directly …

There Is An Angel On My Canvas

Shiny

I started with this canvas a while ago and I finally finished it last weekend. This time I remembered to take pictures throughout the process, so you get a better idea of how I created it. Because I had to wait for things to dry all the time, it took me about two weeks to finish it. Of course, I didn’t work every single day on it πŸ™‚ Btw, at the beginning I had no idea what I want to do with the canvas, I just started and everything came together one step after the other. Basically I started with …

Let’s Get Messy With Ken Oliver Color Bursts

Ken Oliver Color Burst

I know that the Ken Oliver color bursts are not new and that they are on the market for quite some time now. In fact, he recently released some new colors and effects. But today I grabbed the very first edition and gave them some love πŸ˜‰ If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you might have seen my card with the embossed flowers and the Ken Oliver color bursts. Similar to that card, I wanted to create a few backgrounds and decorate them a little differently this time. I started with covering my work surface in paper towels …

Ink Resist

Maybe you have seen me posting some cards on Instagram or Facebook lately that were highlighting the ink resist technique. Because I really like this technique, I thought that I show you how I use Distress inks to create cards like that. Video: How To Create A Card Using The Ink Resist Technique I tried to be as thorough as possible without having a 30 minute video afterwards. Some Bunny Loves You – Night Sky Using Distress Inks

Night Sky in Water Colors

Today’s card is featuring a technique that I saw in a few videos and images over the last couple of months, but I have never tried it before: Creating a night sky using Distress Inks. I started with die cutting a white piece of card stock and stamping the moon from the Altenew “To The Moon” set in the upper half using Lawn Fawn’s new butter ink. Now I stamped the moon again onto masking paper, cut out the mask and covered the moon on the card stock entirely. For the night sky I started with blending Blueprint Sketch all …

Video: Simple Technique for Stunning Water Colored Backgrounds

Stunning Water Colored Backgrounds

And it’s again a week without a post, I’m sorry! My excuse this time? The cold! This nasty thing got me on Monday and kind of knocked me out. Anyway, I’m back and I prepared a video for you. This time I wanted to show you how I made some of my stunning water colored backgrounds. I learned this technique on YouTube a while ago and used it ever since. You mainly need a sponge dauber (while I was searching on Google for this, I realized it’s called foam brush, oh well), something like this: pack from Joann, your water …

Artsy Fartsy Birthday Card – Why Again Did I Do This?

Artsy Fartsy Card

Do you have cards where you just don’t know if your design is really great or just terrible? This is how I feel with this artsy fartsy birthday card. πŸ™‚ A couple of days ago I played with some new paints (new for me). I found a set of pebeo Vitrail oil paints at Michael’s and wanted to give them a try. I actually bought them, because I saw Sandy Allnock using them during CHA and I loved the effect that these colors are creating. Because they are oil paints, I didn’t want to use them on regular paper. So …

Video: Simple Card with Stunning Distress Ink Blending Effect

Distress Ink Blending

My last blog article showcased a simple card with a gorgeous red/ orange ink blending effect. I like this design so much that I had to create two more cards, this time with a blue/ green blending. Again, I used Ranger Distress Ink two create this stunning effect. But this time, I made a video to show you the single steps. I’m sorry for all the “ehms”! I’m still a little uncomfortable in front of the microphone, but this is a really good way for me to practice my English skills. So please bare with me till it gets better …

Always Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful – Honey Bee Stamps

You Are Loved

Today I wanted to share a quick Pinterest card with you. I “pinned” this image a while ago and decided to create a similar card today. I’m using the Stampendous Agapanthus (my old time favorite) and the set Beautiful Life from Honey Bee Stamps. I love the sentiment “always be your own kind of beautiful” from that set and had to use it. In general I really like the scripty font and all the fabulous combinations. But I started with die cutting all the card stock. Two pieces of white (that were also cut using the stitched rectangles from Lawn …
