Catherine Pooler Zen Garden Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the last day of the Zen Garden blog hop. What do you think of all the new inks, stamps and dies? Aren’t they just gorgeous? During today’s blog hop we focus on the Stained Glass Cover Plate and the Faithful Flutterings stamp. My first project is using the larger butterfly and the new Split Chevron stencil from the Zen Garden release. I started by blending Seafoam, Skylight and Stone Blue through the stencil. After I was done, I splattered the same colors all over the card to “mess it up” a little more. Next up, I stamped the…

My Home is my Castle for Nathalie Kalbach

My Home is my Castle for Nathalie Kalbach

Hi and welcome back to a new project for Nathalie Kalbach’s Creative Squad. I’m playing with Nathalie’s new stamps My Home is my Castle. Have you seen them yet? I was in the mood for some Distress Oxide fun, so I grabbed three tags and started coloring them in. My favorite technique is ink smooshing. For that I used three colors of Distress Oxide from the same color family and smooshed one after another onto my craft mat. Then I spritzed a little water on top and dragged the tag through the ink, one color at the time. Between every…

Save the crafty YouTuber video hop

save the crafty youtuber

Hi everyone and welcome to a very special post. A lot of us crafty YouTubers earn a little bit of money through YouTube’s monetization program. This program was changed just recently, so we won’t be able to utilize it anymore. That’s why we all came together for a Save the crafty YouTuber video hop. We are sponsored by big companies, which means you can win amazing prizes. What do you have to do for that? Just watch our videos and leave a comment underneath the videos (on YouTube, not the blog). The more videos you watch and on the more…

StencilClub Voices – Creating Mixed Media Greeting Cards with Ken Oliver

StencilClub Voices Mixed Media Greeting Cards

Wow, I’m in aaaw with Kristie’s stencils for the February StencilClub. Can you already see all the gorgeous backgrounds that you can create with them? I have done so many art journal pages lately that I thought this time I’m creating mixed media greeting cards with Kristie’s stencils as the focal background (lol). But which medium to chose? After staring at my supplies for a while, I decided to use Ken Oliver Color Burst. I put the 9×12 stencil on top of some watercolor paper and then carefully sprinkled the powder all over it. The stencil was big enough to…

Destination Unknown – A Visible Image Art Journal Page

Destination Unknown A Visible Image Art Journal Page

Woot, woot, I’m up for Visible Image and created an art journal page using the Destination Unknown stamp set. This is definitely one of my favorites, mainly because I really like the font of the sentiments. But, in just a few days, Visible Image is releasing some new stamps and they are going to be amazing – so stay tuned for that. Till then, here is my art journal page. I started by painting a pink and purple all over the page and blended it in with white acrylic paint. I went back and forth a couple of times, till…

Mixed media art on a card? Yes, please! – featuring Visible Image stamps

Mixed media art on a card? Yes, please! Featuring Visible Image stamps.

I was in the mood for some mixed media fun, but I didn’t want to create an art journal page or canvas. So I decided to create some mixed media art on a card instead. My new paint addition from a Black Friday sale and some of the Visible Image stamps helped me making my idea a reality. I started with some texture for the background and added a mix of peach and grey color to it. I never used that color combo, but have seen several great projects from other crafters with it. After I was done with the…

Let’s address the elephant in the room – an art journal page with StencilGirl

Let's address the elephant in the room - an art journal page with StencilGirl

Yay for a new art journal page. I recently ordered a couple of StencilGirl stencils and had to try a few of them. For this art journal page I used two of Nathalie Kalbach’s stencil. (Supplies are listed at the bottom of the article 😉 ) I started with a mono printed page. I used a red and green Paper Artsy paint, spread them out on my Gel Press and cut it a little smaller, so it fits into my art journal. Then I used the elephant mask to cover an area and added paint through a second stencil. Next…

How to decorate your deflecto Caddy Organizer with Gel Press prints

Happy Monday everyone! Over the weekend I decided to do a little spring cleaning in my craft room. I reorganized a few things and added some stamps to my destash site. One of the items that got a new purpose was my Deflecto Caddy Organizer. Before, I used them for some of my tools which meant that I couldn’t close the lids entirely. Now I have all of my cheap Distress Paints and the Finnabair Metallic and Opal paints in there. These fit perfectly and while I was moving them into their new space, I thought that the caddy needs…
