You Can Never Have Enough Handmade Bookmarks

All Handmade Bookmarks

Hello there! Today I’m showing you some more handmade goodness made with So Suzy Stamps πŸ™‚ Do you love reading as much as I do? My favorite genres are fantasy or medieval books. When I was living in Germany I had tons of them. Unfortunately I had to sell most of them before I moved to the US. Now I’m trying to build my stack up again. And what do all book lovers need? Exactly, bookmarks and the best ones are handmade bookmarks πŸ™‚ This post is a little longer, because I made a lot of pictures throughout the process. …

This Is Stinkin’ Cute. Don’t You Think?

Stinkin' Cute

I love challenges. They are great to get yourself out of your comfort zone and experience new techniques, styles and colors and at the end enhance your crafting experience. This is what I did today with the color challenge at Can You Case It. Perfect for this color challenge are the sequins that I got from So Suzy Stamps during her anniversary sale beginning May and because I had that stinkin’ cute skunk already stamped and cut, I included it and all the matching stamps with it. Enjoy my new video that shows you how I created this stinkin’ cute …

Colorful Cowgirl in the Woods Art Journal Page

Cowgirl in the Woods

It was a long weekend, I got a lot of done (including cleaning the house πŸ™‚ ) and I found some time to open my art journal and create another page. A few posts ago I told you about the online store “A Walk Down Memory Lane” and that they have to close by the end June, unfortunately. One of the items I ordered during their “40% off – everything has to go” sale was Becky, the Cowgirl from Prima Marketing. But before I stamped and colored her, I opened my journal on a page that I used to clean …

How About A Haunted House Halloween Card in May?

Halloween Card

We have May and it’s time for a Haunted House Halloween Card, correct? I know it’s a little early, but I just got this amazing Haunted House from So Suzy Stamps and had to create something with it πŸ™‚ Btw, I thought that it might be time to create a water mark for my pictures. Looks more professional, doesn’t it? πŸ˜‰ Anyway, I started with stamping the haunted house using my stamping tool a couple of times to create a crisp, black image. I also added the sentiment using Versafine ink and the “Trick or Treat” stamp from Lawn Fawn’s …

ATCs for the May Swap In Facebook Group

ATC card for May Swap

What the heck is an ATC (Artist Trading Card)?! I had the same question not too long ago and even after I understood it, I didn’t get why you would create something like that. But that mystery is solved, at least for me. I found a group that swaps ATCs every month. You create ten cards of the same type, send them in and, a few weeks later, you get 10 different ATCs back. Here is what I created for my very first ATC swap, May flowers. I started with priming two sheets of card stock with black Gesso and …

Under The Sea Art Journal Page

Close Up 1

This Under The Sea art journal page was a work in progress for quite some time. I had the background done while first testing my new Art-C metallic paints, added the mermaid a few days later and finally found the perfect paper to go with it during National Scrapbook Day last weekend. But let’s start at the beginning. As I said the background is painted with Art-C metallic paint in teal and the cloudy area is from their Ultra Chalk paint in white. I added some texture with the Art-C texture cream in steel blue and an MFT stencil. After …

Video: How To Create A Card Using The Ink Resist Technique

Ink Resist

Maybe you have seen me posting some cards on Instagram or Facebook lately that were highlighting the ink resist technique. Because I really like this technique, I thought that I show you how I use Distress inks to create cards like that. Video: How To Create A Card Using The Ink Resist Technique I tried to be as thorough as possible without having a 30 minute video afterwards. I talk a lot, but I also sped parts of the video up to not bore you to death πŸ˜‰ Supplies Used So Suzy Stamps – Wispy Chrysanthemum Outline Stampendous – Daisy …

Fairies Are The Best Companions

Fairies

Today I wanted to share a quick fairies card with you highlighting the ink resist technique (again). I know, I’m kind of obsessed with it lately, but it’s just so awesome! I started with stamping the Wispy Chrysanthemum Outline from So Suzy Stamps with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. After letting it cool down for a second, I took Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio to create the blended ink resist effect. First I was thinking to pop it up on some black card stock, but then I felt like I needed to change …
