Have a Sweet Christmas with Shimmering Ornaments

close up 1

Hello there, welcome to another blog post for So Suzy Stamps. This is the last one for 2016… this year was over fast, sigh. Because Christmas is approaching rather fast, I wanted to prepare a cute Christmas card for you and So Suzy’s ornament stamps are perfect for that! I started by die cutting a piece of white card stock with a square, stitched die. Then I stamped the three ornaments using the Simply Sinful ink, also from So Suzy Stamps. Now I stamped a second time with Versamark ink, so I was able to heat emboss it with the …

Lauren Bacall Wedding Card with So Suzy Stamps

Hello everyone, today we are all up on the So Suzy blog with the new August release stamps. Woot, woot πŸ™‚ My Lauren Bacall wedding card features an older stamp with one of the new and gorgeous sentiments (the one from Lauren Bacall… taadaa πŸ˜‰ ). I used the “In Love” wedding couple and paired it with the “Heart Forget” sentiment. Everything started by stamping the couple directly onto an A2 sized card base. It is a solid image, so a Misti comes in really handy here. I stamped the same image onto some masking paper (I use the one …

Using The Gina K Butterfly From The Stamp of Approval

Gina K Butterfly

You might have seen my Stamp of Approval unboxing video that I uploaded at the weekend. And if you’ve seen it, you might remember that I said something about the Gina K Butterfly stamp set not being my favorite in the collection (not that it is bad, just something I wouldn’t have bought for myself). But I’m not a fan of buying a huge box and then not using half of the content. So I decided to use only that stamp set for today’s cards. I started with stamping the big butterfly using Versamark ink and heat embossing it with …

Black And White Card With A Colorful Feature

black and white card

So many things are happening at the moment, phew. But I’m so happy that I still find time to create some cards. Today I’d like to share another simple card that highlights the ink resist technique, but this time a black and white card with a colorful feature. I started with randomly stamping 3 different butterflies from the Kaiserkraft Butterfly set onto white card stock. To get a very crisp image I used Versafine ink and used my “gush pad” underneath the card stock. Unfortunately I got some ink onto my acrylic block and left a tiny mark on the …

How I Create Stunning Cards With Distress Ink Blending

Distress Ink Blending

Hi there! Do you remember why and when you started crafting? I’m still amazed about me being a crafty person. Just 2 years ago I would have never touched a pen and now I own so many that I sometimes don’t know which medium to use πŸ™‚ Crafting calms me down. Especially in moments like this (I’m still missing a suitcase from my Germany trip… It’s held hostage in Hamburg) it helps me not to lose my mind entirely. This whole suitcase situation really bugs me. Anyway, let’s focus on the good stuff, shall we? I was in the mood …

Video: Simple Technique for Stunning Water Colored Backgrounds

Stunning Water Colored Backgrounds

And it’s again a week without a post, I’m sorry! My excuse this time? The cold! This nasty thing got me on Monday and kind of knocked me out. Anyway, I’m back and I prepared a video for you. This time I wanted to show you how I made some of my stunning water colored backgrounds. I learned this technique on YouTube a while ago and used it ever since. You mainly need a sponge dauber (while I was searching on Google for this, I realized it’s called foam brush, oh well), something like this: pack from Joann, your water …

Toasty Greetings From A Cute Penguin

Toasty Greetings

Happy President’s Day! I have a day off and just had to use the time to make some cards and join a few card challenges. I haven’t played with the MFT challenges in a long time, so I thought I combine the Color Challenge and the Sketch Challenge with one card. I started with die-cutting a tag with MFT’s stitched traditional tags and blend Simon Says Ink Rosie Cheeks over the entire tag. Now I layered a star stencil from TCW on top, blended Hero Arts Raspberry Jam over it, and set it aside to dry. I stamped the cute …

Some more cards I made with the Stamp of Approval Collection

Little Birthday Monster

It’s starting to be a Stamp of Approval week here. But it’s just so much fun to play with that box. I try to make something different next time, promised. πŸ™‚ For the first two cards I started with using the amazing stencil again. I took two pieces of white card stock and spread Dreamweaver embossing paste over them. Then I set them aside to dry. Now I took a third piece of card stock and blended Fossilized Amber and Candied Apple to create a sunset like scene. Now I used the Winnie & Walter circle stamps to create a …

Cards Using Stamp of Approval

Well, hello there. It’s Monday and that’s exactly how I feel… Maybe some cards will cheer me up? Today I wanted to show you what cards I made so far using the Stamp of Approval Stamps, Dies, and Stencils. This post showcases the first three. Stay tuned for three more soon πŸ™‚ Card 1 For the green-ish card I used a stencil from Simon Says, layered it on the paper and blended Twisted Citron Distress …

Video: Simple Card with Stunning Distress Ink Blending Effect

Distress Ink Blending

My last blog article showcased a simple card with a gorgeous red/ orange ink blending effect. I like this design so much that I had to create two more cards, this time with a blue/ green blending. Again, I used Ranger Distress Ink two create this stunning effect. But this time, I made a video to show you the single steps. I’m sorry for all the “ehms”! I’m still a little uncomfortable in front of the microphone, but this is a really good way for me to practice my English skills. So please bare with me till it gets better …
