Creativation 2019 Recap – Are you ready?

Creativation 2019

Have you seen all the videos and pictures from Creativation yet? I know, I haven’t shared much, but others uploaded some amazing insights. It was such a busy weekend for me, now that I participated not only as a Content Creator, but also as a Retailer (yay!). And that was an entirely different experience. I definitely have some exciting news for my shop (makerdeli.com) and I brought back a variety of art and craft supplies. Because it is so much, I broke up the videos to four parts. And if you listen closely, you might hear something about two give …

How to use the new Nuvo Expanding Mousse from Tonic

How to use the new Nuvo Expanding Mousse from Tonic

Hello and welcome to a new design team post for Tonic. Tonic sent us the new Expanding Mousse and of course I had to try it immediately. On first glance it looks similar to the regular Mousse, but this has a little surprise for you – when you heat set it, it moves and bubbles and creates really neat texture. Today’s tutorial is about testing what happens when you heat set it while it’s still wet. And because wasting random paper is bad (right?), I tested it while putting together a gift bag for Christmas 😉 How cool is that? …

What is Earl Lube Paste? Test a new medium with me.

What is Earl Lube Paste? Test a new medium with me.

My favorite art supply store had it’s semi-annual art supply sale last weekend and of course I was there. Besides more paints (can you ever have enough?!) I also grabbed a bottle of Earl Lube Paste. It was not the first time I saw it in the store, but this time I recognized the samples next to it. They said that it can be used as a clear gesso, for decoupage and acrylic pouring. Could that be true? After I talked to the owner a little I thought I just have to try it – and here we are. I …

Review of new Jane Davenport products from Michael’s

Jane Davenport Acrylic Paints

You might have seen it already, Michael’s introduced some new mixed media items. They are all from Jane Davenport and range from art journals, to coloring mediums, washi tape, stencils, stamps and more. I got my hands on a few items (I still need those butterfly markers :P) and wanted to share my first impression with you 😀 I’m not good in painting anything remotely realistic, that’s why I was super happy to find a face stencil inside the acrylic paints. And coloring a face seemed to be a good idea for testing the paints. Because the acrylic paints didn’t …

Hello everyone 🙂 I have another Top 5 video for you: my top 5 craft supplies for art journaling. Woohoo! Shimmerz Paints Texturez & Dazzlerz

If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen that I bought some of the Shimmerz Paints texture pastes called Dazzlerz and Texturez. For me they are a new company and I wanted to share my first impression with you. To show how they compare to Dreamweaver texture paste, I created the following video. Video Review of Shimmerz Paints Texturez & Dazzlerz Pastes For the review I used tags created with the Tim Holtz tag die, Tim Holtz and Dylusions stencils, and a regular palette knife. The video is a little longer. If you just want to see the …

1st Try Molotow Masking Pen on Watercolor Paper

Scare Crow in Pumpkin Patch

Hello and welcome back. Today I have another review of a new product (at least for me). Soooo many people are talking about the Molotow masking pen and today I finally used it. I got it at Hobby Lobby with their 40% off coupon (still kind of pricey). I wanted to create a pumpkin patch. Even though Halloween already passed, we still have fall 😉 I checked some “How-To’s” and started stamping the pumpkins on Ranger water color paper using Memento black dye-ink. I learned that I had to stamp the top images first, mask them and stamp the next …
