Today we smile with Nathalie Kalbach

Today we smile with Nathalie Kalbach

Last month’s theme over at Nathalie’s Creative Squad was today we smile. And what’s the best way to get your dose of daily smiling? Exactly, crafting. So, I grabbed some of Nat’s amazing red rubber stamp designs (pressed by RubberMoon) and got all painty. Here you can see how I added all the layers and ended up with a for me totally new look. I’m super excited about the contrast of the white house against the bright and textured background. I bet I will use that technique again. Let’s Jump with Creative Jumpstart

Let’s Jump with Creative Jumpstart

Welcome to 2019 and an entire year of excitement and creativity. January is starting off with a great treat – Creative Jumpstart, this year with the theme “My Home is My Castle”. The Creative Squad jumps with all the 31 artists (and hopefully you?) and shares their interpretation of the theme. My project is a set of wings that has been laying around for a while now. I thought that it is perfect for my next home decor piece, so I grabbed it and stared at the wings for a while. I rarely work in a size like that and …

3 ideas on what to do with your mono prints with ArtFoamies

3 ideas on what to do with your mono prints with ArtFoamies

Hi, it’s Josefine. I was in the mood for playing with my Gel Press and create some mono prints. While I was getting ready for it, I wondered what I should do with those prints. I bet, I’m not the only asking herself that question – what to do with all those prints? That’s why I thought I could share some ideas with you. First, here is the video that shows you how I created all those prints and then what I did with them. First up, I created bookmarks. These are great as presents or just a little extra …

Warm wishes for the holidays with n*studio

Warm wishes for the holidays with n*studio

Hi everyone, welcome to last month’s post for the Creative Squad. The theme was “Warm Wishes” and while creating my project I had the Holiday season in mind. Can you believe that the 2018 is already over? Where did it go? One good thing about the end of the year though is said holiday season. Time to calm down a little, plus I always enjoy the quiet nights. Those were the inspiration for my December project for the Creative Squad. I used a chipboard tag as my base and covered it in patterns using several ArtFoamies designs from Nathalie and …

Doing my Thing – Thank You Cards with n*studio

Doing my Thing - Ink Smooshed Thank You Cards with n*studio

Aren’t we all good in “doin’ our thing”? Perfect theme, if you ask me. The problem was that I couldn’t decide which of my favorite techniques to show you… mono printing, layering, something snarky…? So many options. At the end, I decided to go with a variety of techniques using watercolor inks (Distress Inks, etc). I created a few “Thank You” cards as I needed them anyway 😉 In addition, I love to create videos, so here is my “doin’ my thing” video for the thank you cards that I made. Nathalie’s foam and rubber stamps were perfect to add …

True Blue with Nathalie Kalbach

I could use some calmness this month. Life is catching up and finding those quiet moments is becoming a challenge. So, I’m looking forward to those healing effects from using the color blue (it’s probably more the process of creating itself that will do that for me 😉 ). I started by adding different pieces of tape to my journal page to create some texture for the background. I was hoping for more blue from the watercolor powders, but it turned out that there were a lot of green and purple pigments in there as well. But that just made …

Possibilitarian – Mixed media tag for ArtFoamies

Possibilitarian mixed media tag ArtFoamies

When I saw the Possibilitarian foam stamp for the first time I felt the urge to create with it. It was too long for my art journal though, so I had to find a different surface. The #12 size tag was perfect. Now I just needed to create a worthy project 🙂 Here is my step-by-step tutorial for the huge tag. I hope you enjoyed my video for ArtFoamies. Can’t wait to share a lot more projects using ArtFoamies with you! Supplies Used Some of my links are affiliate links which means I earn a small commission, if you use …

Never Stop Dreaming with Nathalie Kalbach

Nathalie Kalbach N*Studio Never Stop Dreaming

For me, creating is all about expressing myself and experiencing with new mediums, styles, etc. I love to sit down and come up with several ideas of how to use a specific stamp or stencil – sometimes I see a finished project, sometimes I just see the beginning – and then just start creating. For this page, I decided to use Nathalie’s Hamburg and Lily Wallpaper stencil as well as the new Actually, I can stamp set. I knew that my image would end up being rather long, so I grabbed my large Dina Wakley journal and primed one of …

Raiders of the lost stash with Nathalie Kalbach

Wow, what a topic. I knew that I have a lot of “lost stash” but because we are renovating our house, there is even more that has come back to the surface. So, over the last weeks, I put aside a some of those lost items, thinking that they would be perfect for this theme – and I’m telling you, that stash was a hot podge of stuff 😉 I really like this topic though. It gets you digging and you find some really neat things. For my project for the “Raiders of the lost stash” theme, I decorated a …
