Finally, my little mermaid has a home. I put the Julie Nutting doll together weeks ago and was always thinking about an underwater scene that would be worthy. Today’s project is showing you how I created the ocean scene using Art Anthology products. The trick was to start with a black background, so I gessoed my page with black Gesso. I was not careful at all and the page turned out quite messy. This Under The Sea art journal page was a work in progress for quite some time. I had the background done while first testing my new Art-C metallic paints, added the mermaid a few days later and finally found the perfect paper to go with it during National Scrapbook Day last weekend. But let’s start at the beginning. As I said the background is painted with Art-C metallic paint in teal and the cloudy area is from their Ultra Chalk paint in white.
