Lovely, Amazing You – Notecards for Your Valentine

Lovely, Amazing You

Lovely, amazing you was the first sentiment that jumped at me when I looked at the Newton’s Nook “Happy Little Thoughts” stamp set. I love stamp sets like that. You can use them all year around and they fit to so many occasions, it’s not a fancy set or one that follows a specific trend. You can use it on any type of card with numerous techniques. Today I decided to create two little note cards using this stamp set and two more from Lawn Fawn. I started with blending three Distress Inks onto the card base. To get an …

Video: Snarky Halloween Card – The Mighty Witch Dog

The mighty Witch Dog

I found a very neat challenge blog and just had to join! It’s called the “Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers” and the challenge is “P for Pink Halloween”. First of all, I love being snarky and if you haven’t figured yet, I’m addicted to the snarky stamps from So Suzy Stamps, so this challenge was perfect. Second, I love Halloween and really like the idea of the combination with cancer awareness month. I’m trying to use stamps that I recently bought, but haven’t used as much. So I grabbed the Crazy Dogs stamp and thought that the dog would look really …

Using a Christmas Tree Die for a Fall Card

christmas tree die fall card

Happy Sunday! I’m up at the Kat Scrappiness blog today with this Fall/ Thanksgiving card. After all the bright Halloween colors during the last days, I needed some settled patterns. And I think the new Lawn Fawn perfectly plaid paper pad is perfect for that. πŸ™‚ I started by die cutting all the tree pieces and the stump from the green-ish and the brown paper and used the rope die for the background plaid paper and some regular white card stock. Then I distressed the tree pieces with Mowed Lawn Distress ink and the stump with Ground Espresso. Now I …

Little Monsters on a Spooky Mini Halloween Card

mini halloween card

Happy Monday! I’m up on the Kat Scrappiness blog again and we still have so much time left till Halloween. That means we can create a few more Halloween cards, yay πŸ™‚ For this mini Halloween card, I reached for a little older monster set from Lawn Fawn and combined it with new dies from Kat Scrappiness and Cheery Lynn. I started with the background. To create the stripes, I covered the stencil with two sheets of scrap paper to create thick lines. Now I blended Hickory Smoke, Carved Pumpkin and Seedless Preserves one after the other and moved the …

There's Snow Place Like Home

Sunday, fun day πŸ˜‰ We have a new challenge over at the Can you Case it blog, this it’s all about rainbow colors πŸ˜€ But how do you integrate a rainbow into a north pole card?! I really wanted to use the new Snow Cool Lawn Fawn set and decided to add a rainbow colored background, so it looks like northern lights. Well, with a lot of fantasy it does πŸ˜› I started by die cutting two Lawn Fawn papers with a scalloped border die. Then I added a tree border to the green paper using the Lawn Fawn Forest …

Hi everyone and welcome to a new CYCI challenge πŸ™‚ This week it’s all about shaker cards, or when you just don’t want to deal with all the shakers, a faux shaker card. For this shaker card challenge, I decided to go with the fake version. I started by cutting the hill pieces with the new Lawn Fawn dies. Go Bears – CYCI #135

Go Bears

Well, well, this CYCI challenge hit me. School is very different in Germany. I haven’t been in a school that had a school mascot or specific colors and I don’t think that this is a thing in Germany at all. Sports is not as big in German schools as it is here, neither is music stuff like bands or orchestras. And the teacher appreciation that is happening in the US? I never experienced that in Germany. Teachers get paid a decent salary to do their job, no need to send them cards or thank them for being there πŸ˜› (Sorry, …
