Video: So Much Sparkle for Santa and his Helper

sparkle for santa

Hello and welcome to a new card for Kat Scrappiness, using a lot of sparkle and a new to me stamp brand, Nordic Stamps. Santa and his reindeer are just so adorable that they needed a lot of sparkly goodness around them. To create all this sparkle for Santa and his little helper, I used the new Nuvo Glimmer Paste and Embossing Powder. I just love both of them, for several reasons. First, the glitter is not too much. It’s sparkly, but not blinding. Second, the glitter is containable. You don’t have a huge mess on your craft table afterwards, …

Hello there, welcome to another blog post for So Suzy Stamps. This is the last one for 2016… this year was over fast, sigh. Because Christmas is approaching rather fast, I wanted to prepare a cute Christmas card for you and So Suzy’s ornament stamps are perfect for that! I started by die cutting a piece of white card stock with a square, stitched die. Then I stamped the three ornaments using the Simply Sinful ink, also from So Suzy Stamps. Now I stamped a second time with Versamark ink, so I was able to heat emboss it with the …

Little Monsters on a Spooky Mini Halloween Card

mini halloween card

Happy Monday! I’m up on the Kat Scrappiness blog again and we still have so much time left till Halloween. That means we can create a few more Halloween cards, yay πŸ™‚ For this mini Halloween card, I reached for a little older monster set from Lawn Fawn and combined it with new dies from Kat Scrappiness and Cheery Lynn. Now I blended Hickory Smoke, Carved Pumpkin and Seedless Preserves one after the other and moved the …

Hello everyone and welcome to another amazing challenge over at the Can You Case It! blog for challenge #130. This week it’s all about birthday card and mine had to glitter! Now I stamped the music note background onto my white card stock using Versamark ink. I found this background stamp at a garage sale and assume it’s the one from MFT. Then …

Video: How to Create A Simple Card Layout Based on The Rule of Thirds

Close Up 1

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share a video with you to showcase how to create a simple card layout by using the rule of thirds or golden ratio. In my video it sounds like those two things are the same. Just to clarify, they are not! This video from DNews explains the difference very good. But I think that it doesn’t make a huge difference for us card makers, that’s why I refer to both in a similar way. What is the Rule of Thirds? The basic idea is to divide an image into 9 squares. For the rule …

I’m Not A Fan Of Valentines Day, But…

Valentines Day Card for my Hubby

… my hubby planned something for me and I wanted to give something back, at least a little card πŸ™‚ So I grabbed the new MFT Ewe are the best stamp and the stitched cloud edges to create a Valentines Day card in “seventh heaven” (Do you know this saying or is that a German thing?). I started with die-cutting the background and blended distress ink (Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean) to create the sky. Nothing fancy, just simple blending without water. Now I took some white card stock and vellum, ran it through my die-cut machine with a stitched …
