Spooktastic Halloween Card with PaperArtsy

Spooktastic Halloween Card with PaperArtsy

Hi everyone, and welcome to a new post for PaperArtsy. This time it is all about stamp platforms, so I wanted to show you how you can create a spooktastic Halloween card with the help of the MISTI – or any other theme for a card using stamps and paints. I’m a huge fan of Halloween and love all the spooky decorations and costumes. For these cards I decided to use some non-traditional colors though. Mainly because the mummy and the witch are so quirky that I had to do something special for them. I hope you enjoyed my scary …

Never Stop Dreaming with Nathalie Kalbach

Nathalie Kalbach N*Studio Never Stop Dreaming

For me, creating is all about expressing myself and experiencing with new mediums, styles, etc. I love to sit down and come up with several ideas of how to use a specific stamp or stencil – sometimes I see a finished project, sometimes I just see the beginning – and then just start creating. For this page, I decided to use Nathalie’s Hamburg and Lily Wallpaper stencil as well as the new Actually, I can stamp set. I knew that my image would end up being rather long, so I grabbed my large Dina Wakley journal and primed one of …

Eileen Hull Handmade Journal with Seth Apter stencils

Hello everyone, I’m super excited to share this post with you! Originally, I wanted to tell you all about IntheMkng, a festival at the end of September for everything crafty, but then I got distracted and started playing with Eileen Hull’s die, so that’s what I’m going to show you instead 😉 But how did I get here? You might have seen that I’m currently signed up as a VIP AFCI Creator and that I’m planning to go the InTheMkng event in September. Eileen Hull is one of the designers that will be there and because I just recently discovered …

Nathalie Studio Creative Squad post – all shapes and sizes

All Shapes and Sizes with Nathalie Kalbach

I’m super excited about this month’s theme All Shapes and Sizes. I love shapes and it’s so much fun to incorporate them in my art journal. If I would have to pick a favorite shape, it’s definitely circles. I constantly draw circles and add bubbles to my projects. That’s why I decided to emphasize them even more for this theme. I started by picking some random mono prints. I have a huge stack of them and thought that they are perfect for adding random marks and then cutting them into shapes. In addition, I selected a few Art Foamies foam …

Yummy texture with Emerald Creek Baked Texture, Distress Oxide and monoprinting

Hi everyone, I had a lot of fun playing with the new Distress Oxide colors and the ranger Gel Plates. I experimented with the Oxides and how they act for mono printing. In addition, I finally played with the new Baked Texture embossing powders from Emerald Creek and Seth Apter again to create some yummy texture on my tags. You can see all the details in my video, how the ink behaves, how gorgeous the Baked Textures are and most of all, how much fun everyone can have with just playing around 😉 I hope you enjoyed my little experiment …

Coloring with the Gel Press and Catherine Pooler

Woohoo! Welcome to the new Catherine Pooler release. Are you excited? I know I am 🙂 For day one of the blog hop I prepared two cards with color, mess and sparkle. I’m a huge fan of the calligraphy word dies, so I wanted to give them special attention. Every focal point needs a little bit of decoration and coloring with the Gel Press is a great option. I created a step-by-step tutorial video for you, so you can see how the cards came together. I had quite a few leftover prints, so I decided to whip up one more …

This must be the place – A project for Nathalie Kalbach

This must be the place Nathalie Kalbach

Even small pieces of art can tell a big story. I love working on tags and playing with the smaller real estate. This one was the perfect size to create some dimension without it looking too busy. Do you want to hear the story of this tag? Then read till the end 😉 I started with a mono printed background. I used a 5×7 Gel Press and added several colors of PaperArtsy paint on top. The second layer uses the same technique, but in a slightly different way. This time I used one of the Petite Gel Press plates and …

Why mono printing with the Gel Press is so addicting

Why mono printing with the Gel Press is so addicting

Hi there! Last week I uploaded a video with a few cards that I created using the Gel Press. I got a lot of comments on that one (yeah, mostly because it’s part of a blog hop 😉 ), but a few people said that they have never seen that technique. So I thought I create a video with nothing but mono prints. Here is my video. While you can watch me creating all these prints, I’m telling you a little about the Gel Press. Yes, I had a lot of fun that day! My floor was full of Gel …
