Snarkfest 2017 – Second Chance Art Journal Page

Snarkfest Art Journal

Man, I haven’t shared an art journal page in forever. Shame on me! Good that we have Snarkfest going on in the Snarky Stamper Facebook group and I was in the mood for some fun. And fun always includes smearing around with paints and a snarky sentiment. In this case the “Second Chance” sentiment from So Suzy Stamps πŸ˜‰ I started by painting three different Dylusions paint onto the background, Postbox Red, Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine. The easiest and fastest way is by using a baby wipe and to avoid fuzzy paper with this technique, it’s best to Gesso it …

blowing-snowflakes-feature calendar

Hi and welcome to another fun special for So Suzy Stamps. Today we are highlighting the Blowing Snowflakes and the Blowing Snowflakes Tree stamps. Both incredibly amazing stamps that can be used for all sorts of projects. I was in the mood for a mixed media project and because I just recently got some smaller wooden panels I decided to create a calendar. What is better for the Blowing Snowflake feature from So Suzy Stamps than being a little messy πŸ˜› In case of describing all the steps, I decided to film the process. I couldn’t explain most decisions I …

Hello πŸ™‚ I was in the mood to decorate one of the art journal pages that I created during my Dylusions Art Journal series (All the videos and the giveaway can be found here). As it’s still time to create a bunch of Halloween stuff, I had to create a Halloween art journal page πŸ™‚ I remembered to turn on the camera to film the process. That’s so much easier than writing every step down πŸ˜› I hope you’ll enjoy my video: Unfortunately my camera stopped recording during the last minute so the video stops before I was finished with …

Video: Creating a Colorful Background with Dylusions Paints

create a colorful background

Creating a colorful background with Dylusions paints is simple and fun. My new video shows you how to add colorful squares and how you could decorate them. This background is so much fun to “put together” πŸ™‚ You only need some different colors (in my video I use 4) and some stencils. I use the Ranger blending tools to “paint”, but your fingers or make up sponges work as well. The Dylusions paints are more fluid than other acrylic paints, but that makes them perfect for this technique. For the stencils though, you don’t have to use the Dylusions ones. …

Heart and Soul Is the Title of My New Canvas

Heart & Soul

Hello πŸ™‚ Today I wanted to share my latest canvas with you. Unfortunately I have created it over several days and can’t remember exactly every single step. You can see some layers in the pictures above and I tried to make good and useful close up photos πŸ™‚ I started by adding texture paste through a harlekin stencil and splattered Iridescent Silver Acrylic ink from Liquitex onto the top and let it run down. Then I blended Dylusions paints in several blue tones on top. Now I adhered some cloth, the flowers (Prima), the frame (Prima) and the crown (Tim …

An Encouraging Piece of Art Using So Suzy Stamps

Encouraging piece of art

Hello everyone! Today I’m excited to show you another release from So Suzy Stamps. The Design Team is showing their creations with the new stamps over at the So Suzy blog. My creation is not a card, but an Artist Loft 5×7 Canvas Panel. I wanted to create an encouraging piece of art that you could put up on a wall or in your office (mine is sitting on my desk). I just love the new stamps and like the idea of creating beautiful beach scenes with all the grasses. So let’s get started. I started by priming the canvas …

Video: Adding the 2nd Layer of Interest to the Background with Dylusions Paints

Welcome to another video in my Dylusions art journal series. This time I’m adding even more interest to the background with Dylusions Paints. I’m using several stencils to blend the Dylusions paints onto the background. For the blending you can either use the Ranger blending tool or for example make up sponges, both work perfectly fine. When I first used the paints, it was bleeding through the stencil all the time and the images were all messed up to the point where I didn’t even use the paints anymore. During her class, Dyan Reaveley explained why this happens and showed …
