Never stop being curious – An art journal page using Visible Image

Never stop being curious

Welcome back! You know me, I love trying new things and am usually rather relaxed about the outcome. This art journal page definitely went through a try and error process before it ended up looking better. In today’s video I’m sharing my journey with this page. The title actually fits really well, because if you never stop being curious, you will create amazing art. This journal page is using some of the new Visible Image stamps. One of them is the “Create your own Calm” sea horse, which needed to be a focal point. I combined it with the Fibres …

Deflecto Guest Post for Valentine’s Day

Deflecto Guest Post for Valentine's Day

I’m super excited to be guest designing for Deflecto again. February is all about Valentine’s Day and I created a very pink frame insert. I’m not a “pink person”, but I enjoyed creating this insert for the Craft Frame in pink. The good thing about is that a portion of Deflecto’s pink product proceeds go to the fight against breast cancer. To see how everything came together, check out my video: I used a candle to lighten up the negatives, but you could use a light string or one of those LED lights. It’s a really neat effect when the …

The Smile is the Key for StencilClub Voices January

Smile is the Key Canvas for StencilClub Voices

One of the things that I really enjoyed throughout 2018 was my membership of StencilClub. This is a monthly subscription where you get three StencilGirl stencils – all exclusive for the club. One part of it is the membership of a secret Facebook group. Super supportive folks there and it’s so much fun to see all the projects that everyone is creating with their monthly stencils. Another perk is the chance to be part of the StencilClub Voices. That means a few members get randomly selected to share their work using the monthly stencils. We get early access too πŸ˜‰ …

Let your dreams take flight art journal page with So Suzy Stamps

Oooph, this is not an easy post for me. It’s my last design team post for So Suzy Stamps. The reason is that my actual work needs a little more attention going forward (all good things!!!) and you might have already noticed that I was quieter than usual the last few weeks. Thanks to all of you who send me a message and asked if I’m alright πŸ™‚ –> That’s why I love the crafty community so much! The good thing is that I will continue using stamps from my favorite stamp company, I just won’t share my projects on …

How to create an Angel Canvas with Emerald Creek embossing powders

Angel Canvas with Emerald Creek

I’m up on the Emerald Creek blog again as a guest designer. Today I prepared a slightly larger project using Emerald Creek embossing powder. I already was in love with them, but after I finished this project I am even more. Because this project is a little larger than my usual projects, I took a few more photos. You can click on them to enlarge them. I started by painting the ocean. Next up, the sunset. The first layer was just about getting paint onto the canvas. Second color, but no blending yet. I added the third color on top, …

Video: How to Create an Art Journal Page Full of Bubbles – Wanderlust 2017

Dylusions Art Journal page

Hi everyone, it was about time for an art journal page again πŸ˜› As you might know, I’m joining the Wanderlust 2017 online classes. This page was inspired by one of the latest classes and because this is one of the pages that I really liked, I wanted to share it with you. Wanderlust is amazing! It’s just so different then all the YouTube people I usually follow. Not that they are bad or anything, don’t get me wrong! I love all of them. But this is just so different. The artists that are showing their work and techniques are …

Week 1 and 2 Wanderlust 2017 – Experimenting for an Online Class

Wanderlust 2017 Week 2 Making Magic Art Journal page

I wanted to share an experiment with you that I started at the beginning of the year. I joined Wanderlust 2017, which is a year long online class that publishes a new tutorial every Friday. It’s all about mixed media, especially art journaling and every teacher talks about different techniques or strategies on how to approach art. I’m not affiliated with them, so I’m really just telling you about it, because I have a blast getting out of my comfort zone with this class. I finished the 2nd week (yes, I’m already a little behind…) and wanted to share my …

Snarkfest 2017 – Second Chance Art Journal Page

Snarkfest Art Journal

Man, I haven’t shared an art journal page in forever. Shame on me! Good that we have Snarkfest going on in the Snarky Stamper Facebook group and I was in the mood for some fun. And fun always includes smearing around with paints and a snarky sentiment. In this case the “Second Chance” sentiment from So Suzy Stamps πŸ˜‰ I started by painting three different Dylusions paint onto the background, Postbox Red, Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine. The easiest and fastest way is by using a baby wipe and to avoid fuzzy paper with this technique, it’s best to Gesso it …

So Suzy Stamps Blowing Snowflake Feature

blowing-snowflakes-feature calendar

Hi and welcome to another fun special for So Suzy Stamps. Today we are highlighting the Blowing Snowflakes and the Blowing Snowflakes Tree stamps. Both incredibly amazing stamps that can be used for all sorts of projects. I was in the mood for a mixed media project and because I just recently got some smaller wooden panels I decided to create a calendar. What is better for the Blowing Snowflake feature from So Suzy Stamps than being a little messy πŸ˜› In case of describing all the steps, I decided to film the process. I couldn’t explain most decisions I …
