What Happens When You Put Paint on an Embossing Folder – CYCI #145

CYCI 145 Color Challenge

Wow, I’m in the middle of Creativation and between all this crazyness I felt experimental πŸ˜› If you want to check out pictures and videos live from CHA, check out my Instagram and Facebook account. I’m posting all the updates there. But now to my experiment. I saw a pin somewhere from someone using paint on an embossing folder and I remembered that I have like three laying around, unused. After grabbing the paints that fit to today’s CYCI challenge, I started spreading the paint onto my craft mat. I used a brayer to get the paint from the craft …

Where to go with the Christmas Tree?

collage

I’m joining the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers challenge again. This time it’s U is for UFO and I had the perfect “UFO” laying around! I stamped this cute little bug filled with a Christmas tree a while ago, colored it, cut it out (thanks for my Scan’n’Cut!) and then never used it on a card. I think I used Copic markers to color the Stamping Bella image. There were some bleeding issues, but I covered all of that with my white gel pen. I wanted to keep it simple, so I masked the bottom part of my card base …

How to create a Card Using a Coffee Mug – CYCI #142

fuzzy yeti

Welcome to a new Can You Case It challenge! Today we have a color challenge for you and when I saw the winter mugs from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I knew that I had to use it for this challenge. I started by taking the coffee mug apart and removing the sides. Then I used a stitched rectangle die to create a square shape. Even though the logo would look interesting I decided to remove it. A simple circle die is perfect to create a window. You could keep the logo, if you would want to create a gift …

Shiny Gold for a Crafty Friend – CYCI #136

Close Up 1

I love this week’s sketch challenge at Can You Case It! It’s one of those simple ones that open up so many possibilities. Not too long ago, I found Reactive Mist at Joann’s that can be used with the Minc machine and I was super excited about the new possibilities for the foils. To be honest they already caught a lot of dust, but the spray makes it interesting again. That’s why my first idea was to layer foiled vellum on top of some pretty patterned paper. I started with stenciling some hearts using Distress Ink in Milled Lavender on …

A Birthday Card For A Special Friend – CYCI #133

MFT Dragons

Hello and welcome to a new and really fun color challenge over at Can You Case It?. I love this color combo so much that I used it to create a birthday card for a special friend of mine. She already received the card, so I’m not spoiling anything πŸ˜‰ I used the new MFT stamp set “Magical Dragon” that just came out and colored three of the dragons with Copic markers. Then I let my Scan’n’Cut do all the fuzzy cutting work πŸ˜› I took an A2 sized piece of card stock and used the new Peek-a-Boo die to …

Wow, That’s Some Serious Sequins Fairy Dust – CYCI #132

Sequins Fairy Dust

Do you have that too? You look at a sketch and think “That seems do-able!” and then you sit on your table and don’t know how to start? That’s how I felt with this week’s Can You Case It challenge #132. But isn’t this why it’s called a challenge? πŸ˜‰ I looked at the sketch for a while and decided then to create a different version of the sketch. That card ended up not looking like the sketch at all, lol πŸ™‚ (hint: that’s going to be my next week’s card instead… hehe). But while creating the card for next …

Sunflowers With A Butterfly – CYCI Challenge #131

Sunflowers with butterfly

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my card higlighting sunflowers with a butterfly for this week’s CYCI challenge #131, another color challenge. Woohoo! This time it’s about yellow’s, gray’s and black’s. Trust me, my first idea was a bumble bee card, but I wanted to create something different. Mainly to show myself that I can “think out of the box”. After a while of thinking it hit me. I had to make a water colored card with silver embossing powder. So it began. I embossed the Stampendous Daisy Thanks stamp with silver embossing powder (and yes, it says Daisy… I …

Crazy Kitten Birthday Card – CYCI Challenge #127

Crazy Kitten Birthday Card

It’s time for a new challenge on the Can You Case It? blog. Challenge #127 is a color challenge with some amazing blue and green colors. I combined my Design Team card with the fact that I had to create a birthday card for my dad. He loves cats, so I couldn’t help but creating this crazy kitten birthday card πŸ™‚ I started with stamping the cat and the present from the Crazy Things set onto water color card stock. To be able to blend the two images with water, I used a black Spectrum Aqua pen, colored the stamp …
