Video: Snarky is part of the package

So Suzy Stamps and Distress Oxide - Snarky is part of the package

Have you seen the new release from So Suzy Stamps yet? There are a few snarky stamps as well and you know me – I can’t resist some good snark. I paired the new Snarky is part of the Package stamp with the rose and rose trio from an earlier release, but see for yourself. I hope you’re not sick of me using the Distress Oxide, because there is another card coming πŸ˜‰ This time, I used them to color the roses in two different ways. The outside of the card with the ink resist technique and the inside by …

How to create a mixed media card with So Suzy Stamps and Finnabair

Mixed Media Card with So Suzy Stamps, Ken Oliver Color Burst and Finnabair embellishments

You might have seen that I started teaching classes in my local craft store Scrapbooking Forever and I prefer to teach techniques. I think showing how to use a product in different ways is more interesting than one project using tons of products and learning just one technique per product. While preparing one of my classes this is one of the cards I created as an example. I like mixed media, so I created a mixed media card with So Suzy Stamps, Ken Oliver Color Burst and Finnabair embellishments. All supplies used are listed at the end of the page. …

What Happens When You Put Paint on an Embossing Folder – CYCI #145

CYCI 145 Color Challenge

Wow, I’m in the middle of Creativation and between all this crazyness I felt experimental πŸ˜› If you want to check out pictures and videos live from CHA, check out my Instagram and Facebook account. I’m posting all the updates there. But now to my experiment. I saw a pin somewhere from someone using paint on an embossing folder and I remembered that I have like three laying around, unused. After grabbing the paints that fit to today’s CYCI challenge, I started spreading the paint onto my craft mat. I used a brayer to get the paint from the craft …

MFT January Release – Introduction to Wonky Stitched Dies and Ewe

MFT January Release Ewe

As promised in my last video I wanted to share a cute birthday card featuring the new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. Just last week MFT released a whole bunch of goodyness and I ordered (just) three items. Stitched Cloud Edges (which I’m not using in this card) Ewe are the best stamp set Wonky Stitched Squares I wanted to try the wonky stitched dies and was not sure which set to get, the rectangles or the squares. At the end I decided the cheaper version is perfect for my testing purposes πŸ™‚ I started with stamping the …

Four Christmas Tags and One Card

Christmas Tags

Well hello there! Today is one of those days where I actually didn’t feel the urge to craft something. But I decided to just sit on my desk and do something. And here is what came out of it: A lot of Christmas Tags πŸ™‚ Tag One I started with a simple Hanukkah gift tag. I used Lawn Fawn’s “I love you a Latke” and colored it with Copic’s. Tag Two The second tag is featuring the bear from Greeting Farm “Let it Snow”. Again, I simply stamped the bear and colored it with Copic’s (the shadow inside the bear …

Santa’s little Helper… Wait, what?

Moose next to the fire

Today I have an extra long card (9″) for you. Santa and his moose are already very tired, so they hired some happy robots to help: Santa’s little helper reinvented πŸ™‚ For this card I used following sets: MFT – Bionic Bots MFT – Toasty Greetings MFT – Merry Christmoose Neat & Tangled – Santa’s Ride Lawn Fawn – Baaah Humbug (the Santa hats) First I stamped all the images, cut them out, and colored them with Copic markers (that took some time). I didn’t do anything fancy, just basic coloring with two to three shades per image. After I …

Happy Lawn Fawn Thanksgiving

Happy Lawn Fawn Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I made this card a few days ago, but I thought it might make sense to share it today πŸ˜‰ This card features a bunch of Lawn Fawn stamps: Thankful Mice, Holiday Party Animal, Happy Harvest, and Owen’s ABC; the inks Pumpkin Spice, Simon Says Duckling, and Sunkist for the letters and corn; and Fossilized Amber and Ground Espresso for the background. I started with blending the background and stamping the corn in the three different inks. I tried to keep the colors as close together as possible. This way it has a slight effect of dimension (at …

It’s the most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Close Up Wink of Stella

Just recently I ordered the most adorable MFT Christmas stamp set Merry Christmoose. Isn’t that moose just cute? So I had to create a card the is perfect for the most wonderful time of the year. I started with preparing the background. I cut out a piece of light blue cardstock that I got with one of my Simon Says Card Kits. I used the sentiment from MFT’s Trim the Tree set and stamped with Cornflower. Before I started with the snowflakes, I masked the sentiment with some post it tape. Now I used two of the snowflakes from Snowflake …

1st Try Molotow Masking Pen on Watercolor Paper

Scare Crow in Pumpkin Patch

Hello and welcome back. Today I have another review of a new product (at least for me). Soooo many people are talking about the Molotow masking pen and today I finally used it. I got it at Hobby Lobby with their 40% off coupon (still kind of pricey). I wanted to create a pumpkin patch. Even though Halloween already passed, we still have fall πŸ˜‰ I checked some “How-To’s” and started stamping the pumpkins on Ranger water color paper using Memento black dye-ink. I learned that I had to stamp the top images first, mask them and stamp the next …

Way too much fun with MFT stamps and stencils

MFT stamps color challenge No 26 - 1

There has to be a first, always. And today it’s the first time sharing a card that I intentionally made for a challenge. Today I’m playing along with the MFT stamps color challenge no. 26 and the Crafting by Design Summer Holidays challenge. The Background I started with preparing my shoe box to ‘color burst’ the background. To get the resist effect, I used the MFT Stencil Diagonal Bars on Canson XL watercolor paper. Than I squirtd some Ken Oliver color bursts on the background and misted everything carefully with water. To create the sun dawn effect, I used the …
