Dylusions Art Journal page

Hi everyone, it was about time for an art journal page again πŸ˜› As you might know, I’m joining the Wanderlust 2017 online classes. This page was inspired by one of the latest classes and because this is one of the pages that I really liked, I wanted to share it with you. Wanderlust is amazing! It’s just so different then all the YouTube people I usually follow. Not that they are bad or anything, don’t get me wrong! I love all of them. But this is just so different. The artists that are showing their work and techniques are …

Stencilgirl Products on Gel Press Left Over Pages

Stencilgirl on gel press left over pages

Do you know that feeling? Your just sitting in front of your journal and all of the sudden the page is done and you don’t know really what you did to get there? This was one of those art journal pages that came together just like that. I remember that I wanted to test my new stencilgirl products and that’s about it πŸ˜› Basically, I was using my clean off page from my last gel press session for the background. You know the ones were you’re sitting hours creating one gorgeous mono print after another and the one that you …

How to use Distress Oxide and So Suzy Stamps in your Art Journal

So Suzy Stamps art journal page made with Distress Oxide and a little imagination

Oooooh, I had a little fun with Distress Oxide and So Suzy Stamps this weekend. I was in a play mood and came up with this colorful Spring page. After I picked up the Distress Oxides in my local craft store, I just had to break them open and create some beautiful backgrounds. I smooshed the ink onto my craft mat, spritzed some water on top and then dragged several tags through it. After they were dry, I repeated these steps till I had the texture I wanted. When I was done with the tags, I spotted my art journal …

Review of new Jane Davenport products from Michael’s

Jane Davenport Acrylic Paints

You might have seen it already, Michael’s introduced some new mixed media items. They are all from Jane Davenport and range from art journals, to coloring mediums, washi tape, stencils, stamps and more. I got my hands on a few items (I still need those butterfly markers :P) and wanted to share my first impression with you πŸ˜€ I’m not good in painting anything remotely realistic, that’s why I was super happy to find a face stencil inside the acrylic paints. And coloring a face seemed to be a good idea for testing the paints. Because the acrylic paints didn’t …

Week 1 and 2 Wanderlust 2017 – Experimenting for an Online Class

Wanderlust 2017 Week 2 Making Magic Art Journal page

I wanted to share an experiment with you that I started at the beginning of the year. I joined Wanderlust 2017, which is a year long online class that publishes a new tutorial every Friday. It’s all about mixed media, especially art journaling and every teacher talks about different techniques or strategies on how to approach art. I’m not affiliated with them, so I’m really just telling you about it, because I have a blast getting out of my comfort zone with this class. I finished the 2nd week (yes, I’m already a little behind…) and wanted to share my …

Snarkfest 2017 – Second Chance Art Journal Page

Snarkfest Art Journal

Man, I haven’t shared an art journal page in forever. Shame on me! Good that we have Snarkfest going on in the Snarky Stamper Facebook group and I was in the mood for some fun. And fun always includes smearing around with paints and a snarky sentiment. In this case the “Second Chance” sentiment from So Suzy Stamps πŸ˜‰ I started by painting three different Dylusions paint onto the background, Postbox Red, Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine. The easiest and fastest way is by using a baby wipe and to avoid fuzzy paper with this technique, it’s best to Gesso it …

Number 2 – Mister Bottle Finding a good and inexpensive mister bottle wasn’t easy till I found this three pack on Amazon. I …

Spooky Halloween Art Journal Page

Spooky Halloween

Welcome back to my blog πŸ™‚ The last week was a little hectic at work (yay!!! It was way to boring before that πŸ˜› ), so I just had a little time to craft every evening. That was perfect for this page as several things needed to dry over night. It’s a little harder for me to describe how I created this spooky Halloween page. I tried a lot of things, sprayed some ink here and smeared some paint there and at the end, this is what it looked like. So, I’m sorry for the lack of instructions this time …

That’s so much easier than writing every step down πŸ˜› I hope you’ll enjoy my video: Unfortunately my camera stopped recording during the last minute so the video stops before I was finished with …
