Hello everyone! I’m up at the Kat Scrappiness blog with another Halloween card. To change things up a little, I used a non-Halloween sentiment to show you how you could stretch your dies too 🙂
I started by die-cutting the white background piece and some black card stock with Kat’s rope die and added the Lawn Fawn house border to the black piece. Now I die-cut a mask for the moon and adhered it to the white background piece.
I blended Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink back and forth till I had the coverage that I wanted. After removing the mask, I blended Squeezed Lemonade to the moon.
After I was done with the blending, I flicked some water to the background to create an uneven effect. The black piece with the houses was too black in my opinion, so I took some white pigment ink and smeared that around the edges to create a slightly foggy scene. The ghost had to be translucent, so I used vellum for it.
I could have used a Halloween sentiment, but I wanted to do something different this time. That’s why I used one of Kat’s greeting sentiments and heat embossed it in Halloween colors. This embossing powder has violet, gold and silver particles in it which makes it look really grungy.
Now I added tiny foam tape pieces to the back of the sentiment, attached the ghost to it and adhered it to the scene. The tiny bat was laying around on my craft table, so I just added it to the back 😛
I hope you like my Halloween card with an “un-Halloweeny” sentiment! I think this is a good way to stretch your dies. What do you think?
