Hi everyone, welcome to the Stencilfied Journal prompt 2 – a collaboration between StencilGirl and Tina Walker. Every week, Tina is releasing a new prompt and this week is involving mother nature. We have to create a journal page and then tie it to something outside. A little scary, but I have my fingers crossed that it won’t rain here in Southern California 😉
For this prompt, I ripped out the middle page of my journal already before I started. This way it was a little easier to work on it and I didn’t need to worry that I might rip apart the page once I’m done.
I started by “carefully” (not) gessoing the page using the Finnabair silicon brush. That gave me a nice texture to the background.
Next up, I covered the page with Titanium and Teal paint – both applied with my fingers. After that layer was dry, I also added a little bit of Quinacridone Gold.
I wanted my focal image to pop, so I decided to use the Emerald Creek Baked Texture embossing powder in Patina Oxide. The best way to apply the Versamark ink is to directly press it through the stencil. Perfect for large areas and when you don’t have to worry about accidentally getting ink somewhere where you don’t want it.
That was my quick page. Now I had to gather all my courage to leave my page outside. The poor thing is all alone out there…
Here it is, wrapped around a tree in my backyard.
I hope you enjoyed my page for the Stencilfied Journal prompt 2. Hop on over to Instagram and check for #thestencilfiedjournal to see even more pages from other artists. And feel free to join the fun 🙂

Thanks so much, Jean!!! I’m excited to see how it turns out once I take it off the palm tree…
OMG, I want to go ho9ld an umbrella over it to protect it, lol That stencil is awesome…just saying, lol 😉 Thanks for using it, you did such a beautiful job with it!
Thankfully I’m in Southern California and as we all know it never rains here 😉 Let’s at least hope that this is true for the next weeks, lol. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
