Emerald Creek and Altered Pages have a fun collaboration at the moment and of course, I’m joining. The November theme is “unsung heroes” and I used the topic to create a sparkling Christmas card.

For me the unsung hero is not a person, but a feeling. I think that “joy” is not valued enough, especially when we are all trying to get our errands done, trying to keep life together, etc. Joy is the feeling that keeps us going. So I used my joy for experimenting to create a sparkling Christmas card with Emerald Creek embossing powder, Altered Pages digital images and my new Dr. Ph. Marten’s water colors.

I started with the Holly Branch stamp and heat embossed it in the Chic Camo embossing powder. I just love the camouflage gold and green and how it fits to that stamp.

Now I colored the berries and leaves with my new water colors. It’s so easy to color something that is heat embossed, because these areas resist the paint.

To decorate the card even further, I grabbed a piece of black card stock and heat embossed the borders with Gold Sparkle embossing powder. Then I adhered the front panel on top. This way the gold border peeked out just a little bit.

At the end I printed the Exotic Beauties and cut out the dancing one. She fit perfectly and now she’s dancing on a Holly leave. Pure joy πŸ™‚

I hope you like how I interpreted the November theme and don’t forget to check out both, Emerald Creek and Altered Pages.
