Happy Snarktoberfest everyone! I just made that up, but with all the snarky stamps that I bought just recently, I thought that we need a festivity for that 😛
It’s still enough time for Halloween, so I started the Snarktoberfest with a very snarky Halloween card. The focus is (of course) the So Suzy Stamps sentiment “Halloween is the safest day to kill a person and leave them in a chair on your front porch.”. I thought that this one is just hilarious 🙂
I started by die-cutting a piece of water color card stock and stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. Then I colored it with Ken Oliver Color Bursts in Yellow and Purple. These two are complementary colors, so I had to dry one layer before I was able to apply the second one. Otherwise everything would have been muddy brown… Yikes!
While that was drying, I stamped the cheeky looking cat onto regular white card stock and fuzzy cut her out. The whiskers were too thin, so I had to cut them off. Instead, I cut three tiny pieces of bakers twine and adhered them to the back.
After the water colored piece was dry I blended Ground Espresso and Hickory Smoke to the edges to give it a vintage look. Now I adhered it to some Graphic45 paper and both to a card base. Finally, I adhered the cat with foam tape on top and added two little snippets from the Graphic45 banner set.
Now it’s your turn! Grab your snarky stamps and join me for Snarktoberfest! Woohoo! 😛
I added this card to following challenges:
