Man, I haven’t shared an art journal page in forever. Shame on me! Good that we have Snarkfest going on in the Snarky Stamper Facebook group and I was in the mood for some fun. And fun always includes smearing around with paints and a snarky sentiment. In this case the “Second Chance” sentiment from So Suzy Stamps 😉
I started by painting three different Dylusions paint onto the background, Postbox Red, Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine. The easiest and fastest way is by using a baby wipe and to avoid fuzzy paper with this technique, it’s best to Gesso it before painting.
Then I added some hearts with the same colors to the background, a doily with Dylusions White Linen and a butterfly with Dylusions Black Marble (unfortunately I didn’t find a link for the stencil anywhere).
With that I had the base for my snark. Next step was adding some more details. I used a Dina Wakley heart stamp in some areas and a scripty stamp that I got at a garage sale in other areas, all very random. In order to have the sentiment from So Suzy and the Unity stamp girl stand out, I stamped them onto kraft colored card stock and fuzzy cut them out.
After the adhesive was dry, I outlined the girl and the “Second Chance” sentiment with a black PITT pen and softened the edges with some water. To add some more interest, I colored some areas with a white gel pen. I also love to add random circles, so I “stamped” some with a cap from an ink spray all over the background.
I hope you enjoyed my page and don’t feel offended by the choice of my sentiment 😉
