What Happens When You Put Paint on an Embossing Folder – CYCI #145

CYCI 145 Color Challenge
Sketch 145Wow, I’m in the middle of Creativation and between all this crazyness I felt experimental πŸ˜›

If you want to check out pictures and videos live from CHA, check out my Instagram and Facebook account. I’m posting all the updates there.

But now to my experiment. I saw a pin somewhere from someone using paint on an embossing folder and I remembered that I have like three laying around, unused. After grabbing the paints that fit to today’s CYCI challenge, I started spreading the paint onto my craft mat. I used a brayer to get the paint from the craft mat onto the embossing folder, without having a huge mess.

Preparing the embossing folder with Distress Paint

I tried it from both directions, paint on the raised side and running it through my Big Shot and then paint on the non-raised side and running it through again. I liked the artsy effect so much, that I just added a light blue banner made from some scrap paper, a ribbon and was done. The sentiment is from a new Strawberry Jude stamp set, which is perfect for Valentines πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed my little experiment and feel inspired to grab your own unused embossing folders πŸ˜›
