Ink Blending with the Misti and So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites

Ink Blending with the Misti and So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites

I’m up at the So Suzy blog today with something that I tried for the first time. Well, not really for the first time. I saw this technique for ink blending with the Misti at Creativation and I tried it using my Distress Inks, but today I wanted to give it a shot using the So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites. So I prepared my Mini Misti and inked up small areas of the Butterfly Tree stamp. Because the magnets hold the paper at the same place, I was able to ink one area at a time and stamp exactly at …

Strawberry Jude Stamps Awesome Memes with Copic coloring

Hello and welcome back to a whole lot more awesomeness. These two tea-sipping ladies from the Awesome Memes stamp set still crack me up and every time I look at them I have to giggle, lol. This time I wanted to use both of them, so I created a card with both facing each other and a fun dialog between them. I wanted the coloring to be simple and elegant, so I decided to use Copic markers. You can follow me along in my latest video: As you can see my coloring is rather simple. I’m not one of those …

How to create a shiny art journal page using Distress Oxide & Emerald Creek

Colorful art journal page with shiny hearts using Distress Oxide and Emerald Creek embossing powder

Yesterday’s prompt over at Nathalie Kalbach’s Artful Adventure challenge was shiny and instead of finding anything shiny at home, I created a shiny art journal page using Distress Oxide for the background and Emerald Creek embossing powder for the shiny hearts. I started with adhering pieces of an old German book onto my page. Then I added a layer of clear gesso. Next I used my Clarity stencil brushes to blend 4 of the Distress Oxide colors together… …and added some water splashes to add more interest to the background. Then I added the bigger umbrella girl silhouette by blending …

Video: Create your own floral background with So Suzy Stamps

So Suzy Stamps with Jane Davenport water colors

Happy Mother’s Day everyone. I bet we are all mothers of some sort, for example I’m the mother of a little fur bay, the mother of dragons (I have gazillion plush dragons) and mother of my own ideas (yikes, cheesy… LOL). For this special occasion I had to create something with flowers and such. I love watching all these videos were someone is heat embossing a floral background and then water coloring it. If you follow The Ton you have definitely seen it. I don’t have a floral background stamp, so I made my own (and will never do it …

Taking time out of my busy days for a new art journal page

Art Journal page with Stencilgirl and TCW stencils, Liquitex and Dylusions paint

Sometimes life is really busy. For me it is right now, phew. The last week was just full of work, but I still managed to do something for 5 minutes everyday. It just helps me to close out the day and calm me down, at least a little πŸ˜› This art journal page is rather simple and basically every of the progress pictures was made on a different day, lol. But it’s the result that’s important, not the time needed to finish. I started with an Art Anthology stencil and some Dina paint. I love applying heavy body acrylics with …

A whole bunch of foolishness

Foolishness

Post number 3 for today πŸ˜› At Creativation I met the a bunch of the old and new So Suzy Stamps design team. We had a blast during these 5 days. One of the ladies, Kymona, always used to say “Foolishness” to our joking around. It was hilarious. Suzanne organized a stamp matching her little verbal outburst and we wanted to surprise her with a few cards using it. You can find the others here: Justine Suzanne Jennifer My “foolishness” is mixing some stamps together that I usually wouldn’t. Some elegant ones and some cute ones. I started with stamping …

How to create leaves on vellum with So Suzy Stamps

So Suzy Stamps Leaves on vellum

I’m still in aaaw with Olesya’s amazing designs. She’s so creative and it’s great to be able to play with her art. Today I used her Open Leaves design to create leaves on vellum. I started by blending Distress Inks onto the background. Normally I use orange and red colors, but this time I forced myself to a different combination πŸ˜› I used the Ranger blending tool and went back and forth with the different colors till they looked nice and blended. Then I die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle die and splattered some water and some sparkle …
