I love, love, love the quality of their stencils and the fact that you’ll always find a pattern you love, thanks to all the amazing designers. StencilGirl Guest Post For this project, I picked stencils from Sue Pelletier, Laurie Mika and Nathalie Kalbach. You can find the entire project description over at the StencilGirl blog. I also created a video for you 🙂 This is the first time that I …

My fire burns bright art journal page with n*studio

My fire burns bright art journal page with n*studio

Welcome to the December Creative Squad topic “My fire burns bright”. If you want to see what I created for January, check out Nathalie’s blog. I don’t know why, but my first thought when I read this theme was sunrise. Instead of trying to analyze it, I decided to just go with it and create a scene using the Midtown foam stamps. I stamped three of them onto my art journal page. One of them is actually supposed to be standing up, but I think it works out pretty well laying down. Next up I created some simple masks for …

The Smile is the Key for StencilClub Voices January

Smile is the Key Canvas for StencilClub Voices

One of the things that I really enjoyed throughout 2018 was my membership of StencilClub. This is a monthly subscription where you get three StencilGirl stencils – all exclusive for the club. One part of it is the membership of a secret Facebook group. Super supportive folks there and it’s so much fun to see all the projects that everyone is creating with their monthly stencils. Another perk is the chance to be part of the StencilClub Voices. That means a few members get randomly selected to share their work using the monthly stencils. We get early access too 😉 …

Destination Unknown – A Visible Image Art Journal Page

Destination Unknown A Visible Image Art Journal Page

Woot, woot, I’m up for Visible Image and created an art journal page using the Destination Unknown stamp set. This is definitely one of my favorites, mainly because I really like the font of the sentiments. But, in just a few days, Visible Image is releasing some new stamps and they are going to be amazing – so stay tuned for that. Till then, here is my art journal page. I started by painting a pink and purple all over the page and blended it in with white acrylic paint. I went back and forth a couple of times, till …

Playing with my new Viva Las Vegas Stamps

Playing with my new Viva Las Vegas Stamps

Do you know that? You see a stamp company and you can’t stop looking at their stamps, but you never click the buy button? Maybe because you don’t really know how to use them or maybe because you’re intimidated by these gorgeous images? Well, that happened for me when I was looking at Viva Las Vegas stamps. For months I was following their design team, checking out new releases and tried to figure out how I can incorporate them into my art. Then I finally went to their store when I was in Las Vegas and ordered a handful. During …

If you’re lucky enough to be different, never change – art journal page

If you're lucky enough to be different, never change! with Art Anthology

What happens when you create a background with crackle paint and then spray a bunch of ink on top? That’s what I wanted to try with this art journal page. And let me tell, you the effect is awesome and I just have to try that with different colors and different inks. But first, let me show you how I created this one. The combination of Distress Crackle Paint and Art Anthology Colorations sprays looked like dragon scales, so I had to pair it with a dragon stamp from Katzelkraft. The quote from the small talk set fits really well, …

Use your wings art journal page featuring Emerald Creek

Use your wings art journal page featuring Emerald Creek

Hi everyone, I’m back with a new project for Emerald Creek 🙂 Today I created an art journal page using EC embossing powder, stamps and charms. Use your wings seemed to be a good quote for this one as I’m using the Cardinal stamp. I also used some StencilGirl stencils and Paper Artsy paints. But the best part is really the Charred Gold embossing powder that always leaves me in aaaw. But see for yourself: What do you think? Isn’t that embossing powder just unique? I always love how it melts 🙂 Don’t forget to join the challenge over at …

Experimenting with spray paint and Nathalie Kalbach foam stamps

Experimenting with spray paint and Nathalie Kalbach

Welcome to a new Creative Squad post. Last month’s topic over at the n*studio blog was “each day is a new adventure” and we were trying new techniques. For me that meant experimenting with spray paint. I got a few sample sizes during a shopping spree at a local art supply store and never had the courage to try it. Thanks to this topic I finally did and I really like the result. But let’s start at the beginning. I used the Santa Fe stencil to create the first layer of the background and sprayed some yellow and pink paint …
