As promised in my last video I wanted to share a cute birthday card featuring the new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.
Just last week MFT released a whole bunch of goodyness and I ordered (just) three items.
I wanted to try the wonky stitched dies and was not sure which set to get, the rectangles or the squares. At the end I decided the cheaper version is perfect for my testing purposes 🙂
I started with stamping the birthday sheep on top of the grassy hill and added one of the cute flowers to the left. Instead of Copics, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (what a name…). For the blending I combined two pens, one lighter and one darker of the same color. Compared to Copics, here I start with the darker color and blend it out with the lighter one afterwards. As I didn’t use water color paper, I had to be a little careful with the amount of blending. Regular paper starts to peel off, when you use to much medium.
Now I die cut the image using the 2nd largest of the wonky stitched dies. For the background I used some blue card stock and stamped a gingham pattern on it using the Gingham background stamp and Tropical Teal ink. The background piece is 3/8” larger than the wonky square. I adhered everything onto a card base, added my usual Wink of Stella to the card and some Glossy Accents to the balloon.
Normally I’m not a squeaky kind of person, but this set makes me squeak… These sheep are just so adorable! So in case you heard some imaginary squeaks while reading that post, that was probably me 😉
