Yay, it’s Can You Case It time again 🙂
This challenge lasts for 3 weeks, so you have enough time throughout the Holidays to participate (winkwink). For challenge #143 we have a new sketch. I love sketches! Sometimes (and I think I’m not saying it for the first time…) I have a hard time figuring out how to position things n my card. Sketch challenges give me the opportunity to not think about that 😛
Anyway, this sketch gives you so much options and I had this Christmas stamp set from Strawberry Jude in my head that I just had to use for it. So, layout done, color choice done (I’m not one of those alternative Christmas color girls), stamp chosen, I was able to start crafting. Woohoo!
I started by die cutting all the pieces I needed. I used some scraps from a nice and shiny paper for the banners and regular white cardstock for the base and the square piece.
To get a nice and crisp image, I used my Misti and stamped the deer and the sentiment a couple of times till they were nice and black. Then I colored the deer using my Prismacolor pencils. These are new to me, but I really like how they blend together.
After adhering the white panel onto some patterned paper using foam tape and adding the banner to the side, I decided that the card needed a little more interest. So I grabbed my Kat Scrappiness “Deck the Halls” sequins and adhered them on top of the banner.
Still not happy, I looked through my embellishment box and found some googly eyes. How fun is a googly eyed reindeer? Exactly, so I put them on and was done 🙂
Check out all the other inspiration for the CYCI challenge. There are so many awesome cards there 🙂
This card is also part of the Curtain Call – Falalala Challenge 🙂
