Hello there, I was in the mood for something different again and for some reason I’m kind of into mixing blue and oranges at the moment. I really enjoy this color combination.
A few days ago Catherine Pooler had a contest for the latest Stamp of Approval collection on her blog, which made me grab it again to play with it. One of her inspirational cards was a faux shaker card and I thought that I want to CASE her idea. So I grabbed my Kat Scrappiness sequins, the Lovely Notes collection and started assembling the card.
I started by stamping the background stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. Then I blended three Distress Inks on top and die cut that piece using the notes die from the collection.
I also die cut the swirly part and stamped the “thanks” on top. My darkest blue was too dark, so I stamped with the lightest color on top again to blend it a little more with the other blue tones. Then I adhered the swirly die cut with foam tape to the orange piece and both to the black card base.
I added several sequins between the circles and next to the “thanks” as well as Wink of Stella on top of the “thanks”. It’s not a typical A2 sized card. My card is a little smaller, but I still think it’s pretty cute 🙂
