An Encouraging Piece of Art Using So Suzy Stamps

Hello everyone! Today I’m excited to show you another release from So Suzy Stamps. The Design Team is showing their creations with the new stamps over at the So Suzy blog. My creation is not a card, but an Artist Loft 5×7 Canvas Panel. I wanted to create an encouraging piece of art that you could put up on a wall or in your office (mine is sitting on my desk). I just love the new stamps and like the idea of creating beautiful beach scenes with all the grasses. So let’s get started.

I started by priming the canvas with white Gesso and later adhering pieces of an old book on top. It’s a German book with old German writing in it.
Preparation

After everything was dry, I added Adirondack Acrylic Paint in Pearl all over the canvas. That’s the shine you can see on some of the images below. Then I blended Dylusions paints on top. I started with the lightest color in the middle and got darker on the way to the outside. First I used a baby wipe to blend the colors together, but for the details at the end I just used my fingers.

To add a little more texture to the background, I stenciled the same Dylusions colors on top. I colored a panel with Art-C Ultra Chalk in white to stamp the sentiment on top. The Art-C paint is entirely opaque, that’s what I like about it. Then I outlined the white panel and stamped the sentiment “Greatest Revenge” on top. Now I just added the grass, the reed and the hammock to the bottom (a stamping tool really comes in handy) and added some Nuvo drops and white outlines to the stamped images.
