I love this week’s sketch challenge at Can You Case It! It’s one of those simple ones that open up so many possibilities. Not too long ago, I found Reactive Mist at Joann’s that can be used with the Minc machine and I was super excited about the new possibilities for the foils. To be honest they already caught a lot of dust, but the spray makes it interesting again.
That’s why my first idea was to layer foiled vellum on top of some pretty patterned paper. I started with stenciling some hearts using Distress Ink in Milled Lavender on top of the vellum. Then I sprinkled the reactive mist on top and let it sit overnight. On the next day I die cut “Hello my Crafty Friend” from black card stock and the scalloped background from some random paper that I had laying around. I was so excited about foiling the vellum that it took me a while to get everything straight and into the transfer foil. 😛 At the end I adhered the dotted paper to the background and the sentiment to the vellum. I put the adhesive behind the foil splatters and the die cut and pressed it onto the card base. Done 😀
I hope that you like my gold flecked card and feel encouraged to join this week’s CYCI challenge. I hope to see you ther 🙂
