due-12-2_sketch-142Welcome to a new Can You Case It challenge!

Today we have a color challenge for you and when I saw the winter mugs from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I knew that I had to use it for this challenge.

I started by taking the coffee mug apart and removing the sides. Then I used a stitched rectangle die to create a square shape. Even though the logo would look interesting I decided to remove it. A simple circle die is perfect to create a window. You could keep the logo, if you would want to create a gift card holder for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The problem with these coffee mugs is that they are sealed at the back. That makes it difficult to adhere them to anything. But the regular scotch foam tape works perfectly fine with it.

Now I stamped the Yeti with the coffee mug and colored him with Copic markers. I fuzzy cut him out, but could and outlined the edges with a black Copic marker. That makes the iamge pop a little more.

I die cut the words “winter” and “wishes” from regular white card stock.

To create some interest in the background, I added Faber Castell Texture Lux paste in Pearl through a Faber Castell paper stencil. That stuff dries rather quick, so I was able to assemble everything soon after.

As a final step, I added some snowflake sequins to the panel and Spectrum Sparkle to the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my quick card made out of a coffee mug πŸ™‚
