Look at this cute dragon. This one of the cutest dragon stamp sets I’ve seen πŸ˜› For this guest design team post I colored the dragon using my Prismacolor pencils and it ended up looking like a drawing from a children’s book – totally unintentional.

I wanted to create some kind of lair for the dragon, so I stamped some stalactites. Masking paper helped me stamping several dimensions.

I did the same for the scattering of jewels. Then I covered some of the jewels with masking paper and added the sleeping dragon behind it.

Before I started coloring, I wanted to add the sentiment. Nothing is worse than hours of coloring just for the sentiment being all wonky πŸ˜›

Finally, I was able to start coloring. I used three shades of grey to add shadows to the stonewall.

The jewels were colored with several green and blue tones. Behind the jewels I added a little mountain. At the end I colored the dragon in contrasting colors. To enhance the children’s book effect, I outlined the images with a black pencil.

How do you like my little drawing? I hope you feel inspired to get your own colored pencils out and color a little πŸ˜‰
