Celebrating July 4th with So Suzy Stamps

Today I’m celebrating July 4th with So Suzy Stamps.

First I needed a patriotic background. To create that, I used Adirondack alcohol inks, in particular the set that you can get at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. That has all the colors you need in them. I started with the red and dropped a little bit of ink onto the felt blending tool along with the blending solution. Now I carefully wiped it over the paper (also included in the set) and created the stripes. I left the top left corner empty to add the blue ink here. I also added some drops of the blending solution directly onto the blue part of the paper to create these splotches.

An American flag is not an American flag without the stars, so I grabbed a tiny star stamp (from a random Lawn Fawn set) and used gold pigment ink to give them a settled but distinct shine.

Now I stamped the Carnival Border onto a scrap piece of card stock and ran it through my Scan’n’Cut. I adhered that to the front of a white frame, cut the sides of, added foam tape to the back and adhered the frame on top of the flag.

Here are some close-ups. Can you see the shine of the stars and hear the sound of the carnival?
