Snark alert with So Suzy Stamps

Snarky cards with So Suzy Stamps

Snark alert! I haven’t used my snarky stamps for a while (way too long if you ask me), so I directly created three snarky cards πŸ˜€ A few days ago I found a pretty paper pack at a garage sale. I love combining patterned paper to create cards, especially snarky ones. I started with cutting a few of the papers. Then I picked the ones that I wanted to be at the top and stamped the sentiment using my Misti. For this card, I cut a little banner to stamp one part of the sentiment onto it. Then I stamped …

Ink Blending with the Misti and So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites

Ink Blending with the Misti and So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites

I’m up at the So Suzy blog today with something that I tried for the first time. Well, not really for the first time. I saw this technique for ink blending with the Misti at Creativation and I tried it using my Distress Inks, but today I wanted to give it a shot using the So Suzy Stamps Ink Bites. So I prepared my Mini Misti and inked up small areas of the Butterfly Tree stamp. Because the magnets hold the paper at the same place, I was able to ink one area at a time and stamp exactly at …

So Suzy Stamps with Jane Davenport water colors

Happy Mother’s Day everyone. I bet we are all mothers of some sort, for example I’m the mother of a little fur bay, the mother of dragons (I have gazillion plush dragons) and mother of my own ideas (yikes, cheesy… LOL). For this special occasion I had to create something with flowers and such. I love watching all these videos were someone is heat embossing a floral background and then water coloring it. If you follow The Ton you have definitely seen it. I don’t have a floral background stamp, so I made my own (and will never do it …

How to create leaves on vellum with So Suzy Stamps

So Suzy Stamps Leaves on vellum

I’m still in aaaw with Olesya’s amazing designs. She’s so creative and it’s great to be able to play with her art. Today I used her Open Leaves design to create leaves on vellum. I started by blending Distress Inks onto the background. Normally I use orange and red colors, but this time I forced myself to a different combination πŸ˜› I used the Ranger blending tool and went back and forth with the different colors till they looked nice and blended. Then I die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle die and splattered some water and some sparkle …

So Suzy Stamps water lilies in water colors

Welcome to a new blog post for So Suzy Stamps. The new stamps were just released and I’m in love! Did you know that some of them were designed by our very own Olesya? Amazing, isn’t it? Today I was in the mood for some water coloring, again πŸ˜› These stamps just look so stunning in water colors. I started by coloring the blossom stamp with my Zig markers. After the stamp was really saturated I stamped directly onto the water color paper. Because the Zig markers are water soluble, I was able to move the color with a water …

I got inspired by Justine’s amazing astronaut card and her galaxy sky background. I have never tried it before, because I thought it’s too difficult. After watching her creating this cute card, I just had to try it and I’m glad I did. It’s not the prettiest galaxy sky background in the world, but I tried something new πŸ˜€ I also let the camera run while inking everything. Enjoy! What do you think about the Nuvo embossing powder? Is that neat or what? πŸ™‚ Don’t forget that So Suzy is celebrating her birthday. That means you get special treatment this …

So Suzy Stamps on a wood panel Close Up

Hello, is it me you’re looking for *sing* πŸ˜› LMAO, I love my snarky mood swings. Welcome to Snark Madness, aka a new snarky project, this time a mixed media piece on a wood panel. I was at a local art store not too long ago and picked some of them up. I started by applying two layers of clear Gesso to the wood panel and picking my colors for the background. I decided to go with a yellow, orange, red theme, so I applied a thick layer of yellow paint first. While the yellow was still somewhat wet, I …

How to use Distress Oxide and So Suzy Stamps in your Art Journal

So Suzy Stamps art journal page made with Distress Oxide and a little imagination

Oooooh, I had a little fun with Distress Oxide and So Suzy Stamps this weekend. I was in a play mood and came up with this colorful Spring page. After I picked up the Distress Oxides in my local craft store, I just had to break them open and create some beautiful backgrounds. I smooshed the ink onto my craft mat, spritzed some water on top and then dragged several tags through it. After they were dry, I repeated these steps till I had the texture I wanted. When I was done with the tags, I spotted my art journal …
