How to use ArtFoamies for stamping on fabric

Stamping on Fabric with ArtFoamies

Hi, it’s Josefine. Welcome to a new video tutorial for ArtFoamies. It’s close to Christmas and I was thinking about quick and easy gift ideas with an awesome effect. So, I decided to decorate a blank tote bag using Nathalie Kalbach’s Geometric Small foam stamps as well as Cat Kerr’s Balance. ArtFoamies are great for stamping on fabric. They are squishy, which makes them perfect for stamping on uneven surfaces, like all the folding lines on my bag. Check out my video to see how easy it is: Because I still had paint in my StampBuddy, I decided to create…

The beauty of nature with ArtFoamies

The beauty of nature with ArtFoamies

Hi everyone, Josefine here and I wanted to share the next page in my mini art journal with you. If you haven’t seen the first two tutorials yet, you can find the first one, where I created the mini journal, here; and the first page here. I started with adding a little bit more interest to the background using the Tri & Try Again foam stamp from Balzer Designs. The colors I used were rather translucent, so the shapes would blend into the existing background. This page already had a circle shape on the right side. I wanted to enhance…

Pretty Things Survivors Do Blog Hop

Pretty Things Survivors Do Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to a very specific blog post. Today I’m not only sharing an art journal page with you. Today is also about awareness. Chrissy asked a variety of crafters to come together and help spread awareness about PTSD. For our blog hop it stands for Pretty Things Survivors do, but the majority probably knows it as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD is a “psychiatric disorder” that can occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, serious accident, terrorist act, war/combat, rape or other violent personal assault.” (American Psychiatric Association definition)…

Lost & Found art journal page with ArtFoamies

Lost and Found art journal with ArtFoamies

Hi everyone. I’m super excited to share this art journal page with you. I used the journal that I made for my first ArtFoamies tutorial (you can find it here) and I thought it would be fun to share with you how I decorated all the pages, starting with this one. Here is what the page looked like before I started. First, it needed more layers. So, I grabbed one of the n*studio Geometric Small foam stamps and stamped that pattern all over the background. I used similar colors than the ones I used for the original background and mixed…

Inspirational Artist Trading Coin (ATC) chain with Emerald Creek

Inspirational Artist Trading Coin (ATC) chain with Emerald Creek

I finally did it… I finally created an Artist Trading Coin, actually several of them. Artist Trading Coins are little circles of 2.5″ in diameter. Super fun. I love adding circles to my projects, no I create on round surfaces. And they are perfect for all those smaller, gorgeous stamps from Emerald Creek. Once I was done creating my three ATCs, I decided that I want to go one step further. I put them all together to create an Artist Trading Chain, lol. But see for yourself: What do you think? For a first time, not too shabby? Don’t forget…

Working with tissue paper on an art journal page with PaperArtsy

Working with tissue paper on an art journal page with PaperArtsy

The theme over on the PaperArtsy blog is tissue paper and different ways on how to use it in your mixed media projects. I was in a nautical mood, so I decided to use Scrapcosy’s stamps and create an art journal page. The tissue paper helps to align all the different layers and allowed me to stamp all the images without worrying about partial images. But see for yourself: Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the quick video. Do you use tissue paper in your art? If yes, how? Supplies Used Some of my links are…

Grungy balance on a wood canvas – a project for ArtFoamies

Grungy Balance ArtFoamies Tutorial

Hi and welcome to a new tutorial for ArtFoamies. Today I’d like to share with you a “balanced” wood canvas. I prefer wood canvases over canvas fabric as it is sturdier and gives your projects a unique look. I started by applying the first layer of paint. A very easy technique, especially if you sometimes have difficulties with getting started, is to use a brayer. I applied a few drops of paint directly to the canvas and then just brayered all over it. For this project, I did that in two steps: first blue shades for the sky, then green…
