Video: How to create a wooden wall hanger with Art Anthology

American Flag

Hi everyone, today I want to share a home decor project with you. I created a wooden wall hanger showing the Statue of Liberty and the American flag. My little drawing knowledge helped me while adding the flag and the Art Anthology paints did the rest. I think I picked the perfect colors for this patriotic art piece πŸ˜‰ This step-by-step video shows you …

French art journal page with Julie Nutting and Paper Artsy

Bonjour everyone. It’s incredibly warm at the moment and I don’t want to move at all πŸ˜› So I decided to create some Julie Nutting dolls while sitting on the couch. Minimal movement, but I’m didn’t waste a day. After I was done cutting and adhering some of the dolls, I had an idea for a french art journal page. Thankfully, I just received my order of Paper Artsy paints, so I had the idea and the perfect color palette ready. I started with adhering that scrap piece of paper onto my page and covering the page in two layers …

Video: 3D birds nest canvas with Art Anthology

Art Anthology birds nest

I’m back with a new project for Art Anthology, woohoo! This time I created a 3D project, well it’s 3D elements on a wood panel πŸ˜› I found this bird and the birds nest in the home decor section, next to plastic flowers and just had to take it home with me. My idea was to pop it up on a canvas. My thoughts went from cutting a hole into a canvas, to adhering at the bottom of the canvas and so on. At the end I decided to risk it and cut the nest in half. Unfortunately, my husband …

How to create an Angel Canvas with Emerald Creek embossing powders

Angel Canvas with Emerald Creek

I’m up on the Emerald Creek blog again as a guest designer. Today I prepared a slightly larger project using Emerald Creek embossing powder. I already was in love with them, but after I finished this project I am even more. Because this project is a little larger than my usual projects, I took a few more photos. You can click on them to enlarge them. I started by painting the ocean. Next up, the sunset. The first layer was just about getting paint onto the canvas. Second color, but no blending yet. I added the third color on top, …

Father’s Day photo frame – life is not always black and white

Father's Day photo frame with Emerald Creek and Art Anthology

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! For today I created a Father’s Day photo frame and the theme is “life is not always black and white”. The idea came to me after seeing the two cat stamps from Emerald Creek. I found the photo frame at Michael’s for $1 and it was the perfect “canvas” for my idea. The black and white gemstones and my new Art Anthology paint were the perfect match. So I grabbed some stencils and got started. And of course, I filmed the process for you πŸ˜‰ I think that the black and …

How to create planner dividers from Gel Press leftover pages

Planner dividers made from Gel Press leftovers

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I bought my first planner. This was one of those trends that I never really understood, but now I got hooked (yay, another crafty hobby – lol). It’s really nice to plan your day with a little color. But because I’m still a messy person at heart, I had to utilize my mixed media techniques for the planner somehow. And then it hit me: I have all these Gel Press leftover pages that are waiting for a good opportunity. So I started sorting through them and cut them into …
