Mermaid ATCs for the So Suzy Flaunt it Group

Close Up 2

Hello everyone, I hope you are good. Especially with a longer weekend coming up. Anything planned? Today I wanted to show you the Mermaid ATCs that I made for the June swap in the So Suzy Stamps Flaunt it if you made it Facebook group. This group is full of amazing people and we all feel like a big family. Nothing for people who can’t handle a little snark every now and then 😉 Every month group members can join an ATC swap and the theme changes every time. For June it was “under the sea” (under the sea, dim …

Video: How About Using Paper Flowers On Your Tag?

Paper Flowers Tag

I’m trying new things again, this time vibrant colors and paper flowers on a tag. I got the paper flowers from a Kaiserkraft bundle sold by Scrapbooking Made Simple. Also included was some paper, the Mermaid Tail die cut collection and other embellishments. I wanted the flowers to stand out, so I chose other colors for the background. Video: Mary On a Mixed Media Tag

Prima Marketing Tag

This gorgeous Prima Marketing stamp is in my stash for a while now and I haven’t used it yet. Can you believe that? (Probably, don’t we all have stamps that haven’t been used yet?). Anyway, I wasn’t in the mood for an entire journal page so I decided to create Mary on a mixed media tag. Tip: Instead of buying “expensive”, already cut manila tags you can buy a box of manila file folders and cut them with a tag die. I was a little lazzy and didn’t want to write down every step, so I thought that I could …

Colorful Cowgirl in the Woods Art Journal Page

Cowgirl in the Woods

It was a long weekend, I got a lot of done (including cleaning the house 🙂 ) and I found some time to open my art journal and create another page. A few posts ago I told you about the online store “A Walk Down Memory Lane” and that they have to close by the end June, unfortunately. One of the items I ordered during their “40% off – everything has to go” sale was Becky, the Cowgirl from Prima Marketing. But before I stamped and colored her, I opened my journal on a page that I used to clean …

There Is An Angel On My Canvas

Shiny

I started with this canvas a while ago and I finally finished it last weekend. This time I remembered to take pictures throughout the process, so you get a better idea of how I created it. Because I had to wait for things to dry all the time, it took me about two weeks to finish it. Of course, I didn’t work every single day on it 🙂 Btw, at the beginning I had no idea what I want to do with the canvas, I just started and everything came together one step after the other. Basically I started with …

Birds On A Wire Art Journal Page – Mod Podge Disaster

Birds on a wire

Sometimes I wish I would do more research on things. I’m a little mad at myself, because I kind of ruined my art journal page. All started out good. I added some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink through a Faber Castell stencil. Then I used a lilac and an orange Gelato and blended the colors on top. Because I had some scraps with acrylic paint splatters laying around, I arranged them on the top right and bottom left of the page. Now I took some American Crafts bakers twine and wrapped it around the page. Because it looked like power lines, …

ATCs for the May Swap In Facebook Group

ATC card for May Swap

What the heck is an ATC (Artist Trading Card)?! I had the same question not too long ago and even after I understood it, I didn’t get why you would create something like that. But that mystery is solved, at least for me. I found a group that swaps ATCs every month. You create ten cards of the same type, send them in and, a few weeks later, you get 10 different ATCs back. Here is what I created for my very first ATC swap, May flowers. I started with priming two sheets of card stock with black Gesso and …

Under The Sea Art Journal Page

Close Up 1

This Under The Sea art journal page was a work in progress for quite some time. I had the background done while first testing my new Art-C metallic paints, added the mermaid a few days later and finally found the perfect paper to go with it during National Scrapbook Day last weekend. But let’s start at the beginning. As I said the background is painted with Art-C metallic paint in teal and the cloudy area is from their Ultra Chalk paint in white. I added some texture with the Art-C texture cream in steel blue and an MFT stencil. After …

Video Review of Art-C Metallic And Ultra Chalk Acrylic Paints

Review Art-C Metallic Paint

Look what I found. I was at Micheal’s the other day, just wanted to look around (yeah, sure…), and stumbled over these cute looking paints from Art-C. First I wasn’t sure if I should get them, but after checking a quick YouTube video, I had to. Good thing Michael’s had a BoGo 50% on those 🙂 Video Review of Art-C Metallic And Ultra Chalk Acrylic Paints I think that the effect is so gorgeous that I had to share it via video, a simple picture is just not enough 😉 I hope you enjoyed my video and feel enabled to …

Video: Review of Shimmerz Paints Texturez & Dazzlerz Pastes And Two Tags

Shimmerz Paints Texturez & Dazzlerz

If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen that I bought some of the Shimmerz Paints texture pastes called Dazzlerz and Texturez. For me they are a new company and I wanted to share my first impression with you. To show how they compare to Dreamweaver texture paste, I created the following video. Video Review of Shimmerz Paints Texturez & Dazzlerz Pastes For the review I used tags created with the Tim Holtz tag die, Tim Holtz and Dylusions stencils, and a regular palette knife. The video is a little longer. If you just want to see the …
