Guest designing for Rita Barakat

Guest designing for Rita

Oh my gosh, I can’t even. I’m so excited about this post and have been for a couple of weeks. Rita asked me if I would want to guest design for her and of course, I had to say yes! If you have been following me for a while you’ve seen me using her embossing powder and ArtFoamies and I love them. For this post, she sent me a special package with three stencils. All of those stencils have a face pattern and I’m not going to lie… I had a short “yikes” moment. Not because of the designs (I…

Deflecto Guest Post for Valentine’s Day

Deflecto Guest Post for Valentine's Day

I’m super excited to be guest designing for Deflecto again. February is all about Valentine’s Day and I created a very pink frame insert. I’m not a “pink person”, but I enjoyed creating this insert for the Craft Frame in pink. The good thing about is that a portion of Deflecto’s pink product proceeds go to the fight against breast cancer. To see how everything came together, check out my video: I used a candle to lighten up the negatives, but you could use a light string or one of those LED lights. It’s a really neat effect when the…

StencilClub Voices – Creating Mixed Media Greeting Cards with Ken Oliver

StencilClub Voices Mixed Media Greeting Cards

Wow, I’m in aaaw with Kristie’s stencils for the February StencilClub. Can you already see all the gorgeous backgrounds that you can create with them? I have done so many art journal pages lately that I thought this time I’m creating mixed media greeting cards with Kristie’s stencils as the focal background (lol). But which medium to chose? After staring at my supplies for a while, I decided to use Ken Oliver Color Burst. I put the 9×12 stencil on top of some watercolor paper and then carefully sprinkled the powder all over it. The stencil was big enough to…

Strawberry Jude Stamps Awesome Memes with Copic coloring

Hello and welcome back to a whole lot more awesomeness. These two tea-sipping ladies from the Awesome Memes stamp set still crack me up and every time I look at them I have to giggle, lol. This time I wanted to use both of them, so I created a card with both facing each other and a fun dialog between them. I wanted the coloring to be simple and elegant, so I decided to use Copic markers. You can follow me along in my latest video: As you can see my coloring is rather simple. I’m not one of those…

I thought it might be more fun to watch me coloring this gorgeous sunflower than reading through a long description 😛 So here it is. What do you think about my water colored bookmark? I thought the Jane Davenport water colors are really bright (hence the name 😛 ). I love that the box is so small, so you can take it with you and not…
