What Happens When You Put Paint on an Embossing Folder – CYCI #145

CYCI 145 Color Challenge

Wow, I’m in the middle of Creativation and between all this crazyness I felt experimental πŸ˜› If you want to check out pictures and videos live from CHA, check out my Instagram and Facebook account. I’m posting all the updates there. But now to my experiment. I saw a pin somewhere from someone using paint on an embossing folder and I remembered that I have like three laying around, unused. After grabbing the paints that fit to today’s CYCI challenge, I started spreading the paint onto my craft mat. I used a brayer to get the paint from the craft …

Throw on a Crown – Celebrating Snarkfest

throw on a crown

New yhear, new challenges. Welcome to the Can You Case It challenge #144 using the colors Aqua and Watermelon. Because we are currently celebrating Snarkfest in the Snarky Stampers Facebook group (feel free to join πŸ˜‰ ), I wanted to create a silly card. The colors are perfect for my new gummy bear stamp set, so I went with three of them and I chose the “Throw on a crown” stamp from So Suzy Stamps. I started by stamping the three bears onto vellum, fuzzy cutting them and coloring them with Copics from the back. That gave them a more …

Googly Eyed Reindeer

Yay, it’s Can You Case It time again πŸ™‚ This challenge lasts for 3 weeks, so you have enough time throughout the Holidays to participate (winkwink). For challenge #143 we have a new sketch. I love sketches! Sometimes (and I think I’m not saying it for the first time…) I have a hard time figuring out how to position things n my card. Sketch challenges give me the opportunity to not think about that πŸ˜› Anyway, this sketch gives you so much options and I had this Christmas stamp set from Strawberry Jude in my head that I just had …

How to create a Card Using a Coffee Mug – CYCI #142

fuzzy yeti

Welcome to a new Can You Case It challenge! Today we have a color challenge for you and when I saw the winter mugs from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I knew that I had to use it for this challenge. I started by taking the coffee mug apart and removing the sides. Then I used a stitched rectangle die to create a square shape. Even though the logo would look interesting I decided to remove it. A simple circle die is perfect to create a window. You could keep the logo, if you would want to create a gift …

There's Snow Place Like Home

Sunday, fun day πŸ˜‰ We have a new challenge over at the Can you Case it blog, this it’s all about rainbow colors πŸ˜€ But how do you integrate a rainbow into a north pole card?! I really wanted to use the new Snow Cool Lawn Fawn set and decided to add a rainbow colored background, so it looks like northern lights. I stamped the fox, the leaves and the squirrel, …

Shiny Gold for a Crafty Friend – CYCI #136

Close Up 1

I love this week’s sketch challenge at Can You Case It! It’s one of those simple ones that open up so many possibilities. Not too long ago, I found Reactive Mist at Joann’s that can be used with the Minc machine and I was super excited about the new possibilities for the foils. To be honest they already caught a lot of dust, but the spray makes it interesting again. That’s why my first idea was to layer foiled vellum on top of some pretty patterned paper. I started with stenciling some hearts using Distress Ink in Milled Lavender on …

Once Upon A Time – A Fairy Tale Card – CYCI #134

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time… oh wait, before I start and you are like “What the hell is going on here?” let me explain myself. Being part of the Can You Case It Design team is super fun. For example, for this challenge we were talking about possibilities for this week’s sketch. I was asking, if dragons and unicorns count as pets as well. After a fun back and forth with Eva we decided that they do, but the post has to be imaginative. So here I am, creating a fun bedtime story, explaining how the dragon became a pet. Once …

Hello and welcome to a new and really fun color challenge over at Can You Case It?. I love this color combo so much that I used it to create a birthday card for a special friend of mine. She already received the card, so I’m not spoiling anything πŸ˜‰ I used the new MFT stamp set “Magical Dragon” that just came out and colored three of the dragons with Copic markers. Then I let my Scan’n’Cut do all the fuzzy cutting work πŸ˜› I took an A2 sized piece of card stock and used the new Peek-a-Boo die to …

All the glitter 2

Hello everyone and welcome to another amazing challenge over at the Can You Case It! blog for challenge #130. This week it’s all about birthday card and mine had to glitter! I started with going through my stash of embossing powders and finding all the glitter ones. Surprisingly I have a few. I chose a golden one and matching to it a purple with gold splatters in it. Now I stamped the music note background onto my white card stock using Versamark ink. I found this background stamp at a garage sale and assume it’s the one from MFT. Then …
