I’m Not A Fan Of Valentines Day, But…

Valentines Day Card for my Hubby

… my hubby planned something for me and I wanted to give something back, at least a little card πŸ™‚ So I grabbed the new MFT Ewe are the best stamp and the stitched cloud edges to create a Valentines Day card in “seventh heaven” (Do you know this saying or is that a German thing?). I started with die-cutting the background and blended distress ink (Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean) to create the sky. Nothing fancy, just simple blending without water. Now I took some white card stock and vellum, ran it through my die-cut machine with a stitched …

Some more cards I made with the Stamp of Approval Collection

Little Birthday Monster

It’s starting to be a Stamp of Approval week here. But it’s just so much fun to play with that box. I try to make something different next time, promised. πŸ™‚ For the first two cards I started with using the amazing stencil again. I took two pieces of white card stock and spread Dreamweaver embossing paste over them. Then I set them aside to dry. Now I took a third piece of card stock and blended Fossilized Amber and Candied Apple to create a sunset like scene. Now I used the Winnie & Walter circle stamps to create a …

Unboxing Stamp of Approval – Young at Heart Collection

Unboxing Stamp of Approval

Good morning! My mailman delivered something very exciting today: the new Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection πŸ™‚ My coffee was ready (yes, that’s a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mug) and I couldn’t wait, so I had to film the unboxing immediately. Unfortunately at the time I got the box, the light was terrible in my craft room. Please excuse the sun (don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that it is shining today). Right now (Feb. 6th) it looks like you can still buy the box here: http://cpstampofapproval.com/. In case you weren’t able to order it anymore, just wait …

Video: Simple Card with Stunning Distress Ink Blending Effect

Distress Ink Blending

My last blog article showcased a simple card with a gorgeous red/ orange ink blending effect. I like this design so much that I had to create two more cards, this time with a blue/ green blending. Again, I used Ranger Distress Ink two create this stunning effect. But this time, I made a video to show you the single steps. I’m sorry for all the “ehms”! I’m still a little uncomfortable in front of the microphone, but this is a really good way for me to practice my English skills. So please bare with me till it gets better …

Always Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful – Honey Bee Stamps

You Are Loved

Today I wanted to share a quick Pinterest card with you. I “pinned” this image a while ago and decided to create a similar card today. I’m using the Stampendous Agapanthus (my old time favorite) and the set Beautiful Life from Honey Bee Stamps. I love the sentiment “always be your own kind of beautiful” from that set and had to use it. In general I really like the scripty font and all the fabulous combinations. But I started with die cutting all the card stock. Two pieces of white (that were also cut using the stitched rectangles from Lawn …

I’m Stuck On You – Lawn Fawn in Water Colors

Stuck Lawn Fawn

As you might have seen in my latest posts, I am in a water color mood. So I was going through my stamps and was trying to find a different set that could be used with water colors. It just took a few flips through my stash to find this Lawn Fawn set. I started with stamping the two cactus (cacti? cactuses?) on watercolor paper. Next I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with silver Wow embossing powder. For the background, I used three different shades of green from the zig clean color real brush markers …

Colored Ink Comparison – For All Who Need More Color in Their Life

Colored Ink Comparison

What a beautiful Sunday here in SoCal. The sun is shining and it’s warm again. So what would be better than to get the colors out. I finally made some time and swatched all my inks (Jennifer McGuire style). While I was stamping one ink after another, I was wondering which manufacturer is good for sentiments, which one for plain areas, and so on. So I stamped and blended one color from every manufacturer I own and made a video for you (and me of course… I was curious as well πŸ™‚ ). Colored Ink Comparison These are the inks …

MFT January Release – Introduction to Wonky Stitched Dies and Ewe

MFT January Release Ewe

As promised in my last video I wanted to share a cute birthday card featuring the new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. Just last week MFT released a whole bunch of goodyness and I ordered (just) three items. Stitched Cloud Edges (which I’m not using in this card) Ewe are the best stamp set Wonky Stitched Squares I wanted to try the wonky stitched dies and was not sure which set to get, the rectangles or the squares. At the end I decided the cheaper version is perfect for my testing purposes πŸ™‚ I started with stamping the …

Craft Room Organization – What Is In My Craft Room 2016?

Craft Room Organization

Hello there, Today I made a YouTube video showing how my craft room is setup and how I organize things. It’s a rather quick walk-through, so if you are interested in any of my storage ideas just let me know. I can always create separate videos and/ or blog articles describing how I setup my stuff. With no further ado, here is my craft room organization video: Just in case you are interested in the ArtBin storage I was talking about, here is some more information on them: ArtBin Homepage. I just wanted to mention again that I’m not related …
