Video collaboration with Justine Hovey – Distress Oxides Techniques

Video collaboration with Justine Hovey - Distress Oxide Techniques

Hey and welcome to my blog. Today is all about Distress Oxides. Justine Hovey, one of my favorite crafty friends, organized a massive collaboration throughout the month of April and she got together with a variety of crafters to share techniques, new products and fun ideas around card making. The collaboration between her and myself is all about Distress Oxides and ideas for what you can do with them. Her techniques are a bit more “clean and simple” compared to mine. I just had to showcase some messy ones 🙂 Check out my video for 4 mixed media Distress Oxide…

One color per card using Nuvo from Tonic Studio

Tonic Studion Nuvo one color per card

Hi everyone, I had a fun idea for a project and thought I’d share this with you 😉 When I was sorting through my Nuvo mediums, I realized that all of the products match nicely when used in the same color palette (what a revelation, I know 😉 ), so I wondered how cards made with Nuvo products in only one color would look like. Trying not to spoil anything, but it was a lot of fun 😉 Have you ever tried making something in only one color? Maybe now is the right time to do it (again) 😉 Supplies…

Creativation 2019 Recap – Are you ready?

Creativation 2019

Have you seen all the videos and pictures from Creativation yet? I know, I haven’t shared much, but others uploaded some amazing insights. It was such a busy weekend for me, now that I participated not only as a Content Creator, but also as a Retailer (yay!). And that was an entirely different experience. I definitely have some exciting news for my shop (makerdeli.com) and I brought back a variety of art and craft supplies. Because it is so much, I broke up the videos to four parts. And if you listen closely, you might hear something about two give…

Mono printing with Nuvo Aqua Flow pens

Mono printing with Nuvo Aqua Flow pens

Hi everyone and Happy New Year! Let’s start it with some fun and that includes mono printing for me. I was curious about the Nuvo Aqua Flow pens and if you could do more with them, besides coloring images. So I grabbed my petite Gel Press and started coloring that. Here is a quick video showing all the details. What do you think? So many options and it’s so easy. That technique is also great for creating a bunch of blank cards and then add a sentiment later on, once you need a card. Supplies Used Some of my links…

Whimsical Christmas card using PaperArtsy stamps and paints

Whimsical Christmas card using PaperArtsy stamps and paints

So close to Christmas and I can’t wait for a few days off to relax, calm down and end the year with a big sigh. But before we are there, here are a few more Christmas cards, in case you need some last minute ideas. The theme over on the PaperArtsy blog is clean and simple Christmas cards, so I decided to use one of the latest Zinsky Art sets and create some whimsical Christmas cards. Not entirely clean and simple, but as simple as it can get in my craft room 😉 I decided to color these adorable bears…

Doing my Thing – Thank You Cards with n*studio

Doing my Thing - Ink Smooshed Thank You Cards with n*studio

Aren’t we all good in “doin’ our thing”? Perfect theme, if you ask me. The problem was that I couldn’t decide which of my favorite techniques to show you… mono printing, layering, something snarky…? So many options. At the end, I decided to go with a variety of techniques using watercolor inks (Distress Inks, etc). I created a few “Thank You” cards as I needed them anyway 😉 In addition, I love to create videos, so here is my “doin’ my thing” video for the thank you cards that I made. Nathalie’s foam and rubber stamps were perfect to add…
