Bonjour everyone. It’s incredibly warm at the moment and I don’t want to move at all 😛 So I decided to create some Julie Nutting dolls while sitting on the couch. Minimal movement, but I’m didn’t waste a day. After I was done cutting and adhering some of the dolls, I had an idea for a french art journal page. Thankfully, I just received my order of Paper Artsy paints, so I had the idea and the perfect color palette ready.
I started with adhering that scrap piece of paper onto my page and covering the page in two layers of white Gesso. Then I added a layer of Buff.
Then I added some orange through several stencils.
I used a contrast color for the word “Bonjour”. That turquoise is just gorgeous.
I added a little more color through a stencil.
Now I adhered some butterflies that I got from a Tim Holtz ephemera pack. I picked the ones that best fit the colors of the page. I also outlined the greeting and colored in some of the letters with a white acrylic pen.
Then I added the sassy french girl. I can already imagine her saying something snarky 😛
I added a few finishing touches at the end. Some circles and a French poem behind the girl.
Have you used Paper Artsy paints before? I heard about them at Creativation and have tried to find them since then. I finally got my hands on them 😀
