Welcome to 2017! This year is going to be amazing! There are so many things coming up and one of them is me being on the So Suzy Design Team for one more term, woohoo! I can’t wait to show you all the shenanigans that we have planned.

For the beginning, we prepared some amazing cards using vellum as the main technique. You can find all the DT cards here.

My card features the house border stamp, the Clarity stencil brushes and Distress Inks in different blue shades.
preparing 1

I started by masking off the top of my card and about 1/3 of the bottom. Then I blended the three shades directly to the card base. I started with the lightest color, moved to the middle shade and then to the darkest tone, till I had the coverage that I wanted.

Now I used my Misti to stamp the House border onto vellum. Even though I used Memento black ink, I had to be careful to not smear the ink all over the place. To make sure that I don’t accidentally touch it, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

To create the golden stars I started by stamping with the Versmark ink pad directly onto the vellum and then covered it with gold embossing powder. After heat setting it, I die cut the stars using a confetti die.

Now I adhered the house border on top of the card base and added the sentiment “Don’t give up, just start over” to the 1/3 that was covered by the masking tape.

Finally, I added all the stars all over the background. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this months technique and don’t forget to check out all the other amazing Design Team cards!
