Going batty with Catherine Pooler

Going Batty with Catherine Pooler

Trust me, I am definitely going batty over this release. Halloween is my favorite (if you haven’t figured that out yet…) and I had so much fun playing with this release. I thought that this release needs to be featured in the right light (see where I’m going with this? 😉 ) and that’s why I had to pull out the Glow int the Dark embossing powder. And as you will see throughout the hop, the Creative Team has a thing for it. I created two cards for the hop. One that features the glow in the dark embossing powder …

Endless Summer Cheerful Mixed Media Cards for N*Studio

Endless Summer Mixed Media Cards for Nathalie Kalbach

Hi everyone! Summer has started, it’s official. We are having the first days with over 100 degrees in California, so I spend a lot of time in my pool. When we bought our house, we fell in love with the pool. It is plastered with a variety of blue tiles which shine amazing when the sun hits them. The colors of the pool were my inspiration for this month’s theme – Endless Summer. But as always, I started with those colors and then couldn’t stop. But let’s start at the beginning. I decided to create a few greeting cards. I …

Creating my own Baked Texture with new Seth Apter stamps from PaperArtsy

PaperArtsy Baked Texture

Hi an welcome to a new post for the PaperArtsy blog. The topic is “Baked Texture” and instead of using Seth’s Baked Texture embossing powder for it, I created my own (texture, not embossing powders 😉 ). I combined the Baked Texture with new Seth Apter stamps that have been released by PaperArtsy just recently. I rarely create bigger 3D items, but I was kind of on the role with this project and I added quite a bit dimension. My quick video will show you all the details. Have you used Resin before? I thought that it is a lot …

The Stencilfied Journal Prompt 8 – Stencil with Glue

The Stencilfied Journal Prompt 8 - Stencil with Glue

I’m back with one more page for the collaboration between Tina Walker and StencilGirl: The Stencilfied Journal Prompt 8 (which was last week’s prompt) is “stencil with glue” and I took that prompt rather loosely. I ended up embossing my page, so the glue is the embossing dabber 😉 This page went from treasure hunt to Halloween page rather quickly. I definitely wanted to use the Scribble X stencil but the original idea was a treasure map. After my embossing powder started flowing, it felt more like something is taking over, literally. So I looked at my Halloween ephemera and …

The Stencilfied Journal Prompt 7 – Rip up a Page

Stencilfied Journal Prompt 7

Hi everyone, welcome to prompt number 7 of The Stencilfied Journal 🙂 I know, I’m a little late with this one, but we are renovating our house and that kept me quite busy. To show you how sorry I am, I thought I make it a video this time. Is that okay? 😉 This weeks prompt was to rip up a page and glue it back into the art journal. When I first read it I was shocked. How could I rip up a page that I just decorated? But after a while I calmed down. Isn’t that exactly what …

How to create a disappearing Cheshire Cat with Visible Image

How to create a disapearing Cheshire Cat with Visible Image

Hello and welcome to a new blog post for Visible Image. This time I’m excited to share the new Alice in Wonderland sets with you, especially the Cheshire Cat. I LOVE Alice in Wonderland! It’s one of my all time favorite stories. When I saw the cat stamp I knew that I wanted to create the disappearing Cheshire Cat and just had to come up with a plan on how to do that. In my video I’m sharing my plan and the slightly wonky execution. At least at first, it got better later on 😉 What do you think? Did …

The plain box society - a collaboration with Tina Walker and StencilGirl

Welcome to the plain box society, a collaboration between StencilGirl® and Tina Walker. You might be wondering what this is all about, so let me explain. Tina Walker was looking for artists that would join her in a collaboration which was all about decorating a plain box. And wow, the response was amazing. Obviously I am one of the artists that got selected and this is the box I created – a tea box. You won’t believe the amazing creations everybody came up with. Definitely check out the StencilGirl® blog – Tina is sharing all the amazing pictures over there …

New Release Nathalie Kalbach and Rubbermoon stamps

New Release Nathalie Kalbach and Rubbermoon

Look at those gorgeous stamps and aren’t these little ones just so cute? Nathalie Kalbach released a couple new red rubber stamps through Rubbermoon and they are perfect for the upcoming Christmas season or just for anything when you like circles 😉 I prepared a few samples for you. Starting with just a few of them stamped onto a white piece of cardstock. The big ornament was stamped using two ink pads to create an ombre effect. Then just a little sparkle, some doodled strings and my first Christmas card for the year is done, woohoo! Working in similar colors …

This theme is all about tropical flowers, flamingos and more. To give you an idea, here is a card that I made for the release. Rather simple, but so effective. You can see the process of how I put it together in my short video: You can find more inspiration …
