We had a major ant outbreak at work today. Ants everywhere… Yak! Normally I don’t care about them, but working while they are crawling over you and your desk? Nope! That’s why I needed to work through my traumatic experience and created an ants in your pants shaker card.
I used the “Happy Summer” stamp set from Lawn Fawn and stamped and die cut hundreds of ants (okay, perhaps 20). I also stamped the water melon and colored it with Copics and added some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. While that was drying, I stamped, colored, and cut some images from the “Let’s BBQ” set. I also added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the spit. For the background I used a 6×6 paper pad from Simple Stories. I cut the acetate, the Simple Stories paper, and some brown card stock with the largest of the large stitched squares from Lawn Fawn. To create a frame, I cut the brown card stock again, using the largest of the small stitched squares.
Now I started assembling all the bits and pieces. I added the ketchup and the mustard to the front panel, all other BBQ items and the water melon to the picnic blanket. As all the ants are very thin, I added just one layer of foam tape to the frame. Plus I added a lot of powder from my powder tool to prevent the ants from sticking to the foam tape. Than I put everything together and finished was the crawly shaker card. Ants everywhere…brrrr!
Thanks for sticking with me and my crafty therapy. And now happy itching 😉
This card was also entered at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Food and/ or drink.
