So Suzy Stamps is sponsoring this weeks AAA card challenge. How exciting 🙂
There’s just one problem – I don’t do CAS style cards 😛
The good thing is that the new So Suzy Stamps release is so pretty even without any extras, so it was rather easy for me to overcome my little problem.
I started by inking up the first swan with the Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti, both Catherine Pooler inks. I wanted to create an ombre effect, so I inked up one half with one color and the other half with the other. I overlapped them a little by wiggling back and forth with the ink pad.
That’s it. I just added a sentiment and was done. I ignored the urge to add more to the card and created a second one with the same technique instead. I wanted to try a different paper to see how Catherine’s inks react. The top folding card is regular card stock, the one that I always use. The side folding card is using Catherine Pooler’s new card stock. I have to say that I really enjoy it. It’s sturdy and doesn’t let the ink soak in too much. So the swan’s look crisper on it.
